I think the point should be that they didn't because this team isn't very good.
At least not with Byfield, Danault, Moore, Fiala, etc playing like crap, and Doughty out.
To be honest, they should have a worse record with the way they are playing.
I also said last night that it may be time to accept the harsh truth that the team isn't as good as it was last year...

I like this team way better than last years, they actually have some balls finally, but Spence and Byfield seem to have regressed.

Do the Kings really miss Grundstrom, Lizotte, PLD, and Talbot? No.

Do they miss Matt Roy. Probably...

Arvidsson was oft injured.

Danault, Moore and Fiala have ALL been terrible.

Akil Thomas doesn't look good either. Same with Turcotte.

I shouldn't be mad because I've been rooting for them to lose all season. It sucks to be in this position as a fan, but this type of game really is the best thing for the franchise.

We need them to suck so they don't buy at the TDL. Hopefully they're bad enough to be forced and into a rebuild and get management fired.

I don't think Doughty finishes his career as a King.

I don't think the plan here is the same though. There have been multiple "teaching moments" along the way, combined with Doughty's absence, that have seen a more forward-thinking approach than in the past few hell-bent-for-the-playoffs years.

I am not upset with what is happening here at all. Not only is it on par with where they realistically should be, but its also validated so many of the concerns that were brushed away by so many over the last few seasons while they bought their way into a first round drubbing.

This year HAD to happen, its just a shame it didn't happen three years ago.

This is the worst I have ever seen Danault play. I am wondering if he is injured
I have no idea what’s going on with him but I see him gliding so often and not skating. Don’t know if he’s checked out or injured.

hopefully the media decides to really commit to writing about the Kings downfall with real honesty. And if anyone has balls to really talk about the failure of the rebuild.

Don’t worry, I’m sure Blake will be allowed to do something monumentally stupid to guarantee next year will be like last year.

This is probably the least interested I've been in Kings hockey in my entire time as a fan, and I've watched a ton of shitty Kings hockey.

Most nights you can just see that their hearts are not in it, and this decrepit brand of hockey is really unwatchable. I guess I can thank them for saving me money, because there is no way I'm spending money to watch this overpriced garbage.

I’ve intentionally disconnected from Kings hockey these last few weeks. What I miss?
Kempe is the real team MVP. Just like two years ago. Just like last year. Top goal scorer, top point producer. Paid less than Phil Dannault and Trevor Moore. He’s so good, he’s allowed Kopitar to remain the #1c at his advanced age.

That was a criticism not a compliment.

The point was they SHOULD have had those extra 4 points.

It’s not a criticism to say they should have beat one of the worst teams in their division. It’s an excuse that says the roster is good enough to beat the Sharks twice. Which is fair if the losses are close. But when it’s a blowout loss to a team you should beat, you’re not being critical with that statement.

A criticism would be some type of failure to meet minimum expectations. Like, for a team that is very good at defending, for all their accomplishments, their top D pair might be overrated if they put up a -3 or worse against the Sharks.
