how did we not draft wolf
Given he went 214th he was passed over by 31 teams that had over 200 chances between them to pick him. For whatever reason he wasn’t seen as a sure fire NHL pick. The Flames took a swing and got a hit. Given our record with late picks I’m not complaining about that.

Now, Lewis on the 1st line… that I will complain about. I’d rather recall Chromiak (not saying he’s a fit either). However Lewis should be on the 4th line atm and in the press box when everyone is healthy.

Lewis on the first line is actual insanity, even if it’s only for 13ish minutes of ice time.

It’s wasted developmental minutes that could be used on a player that has a chance of being an actual contributor when this team (if this group ever gets there) is ready to make a playoff run.

Who? Chromiak, Fagemo? Who?

They clearly see Byfield/Lafierre as a pairing, and want them to develop chemistry...so who?

I think Moore is an option right now.

More concerning is Kempe playing D. Why keep dressing England if he's just not better than your 1LW playing D?

Seriously? Kempe playing D....tell me you don't understand the game flow without saying the words game flow...

If you can't grasp that was situational, then, sure....

As far as Moore taking 1st line minutes, it's the same argument, isn't it, that he' taking away 1st line developmental minutes?

You're right Karen. Must be so frustrating to be the smartest person in the room?

1st line hasn't really worked all season. Philip's line hasn't worked either. At least 11 isn't playing ungodly minutes each night. Maybe it's time to separate 11 and 9? Team has been very inconsistent so far. Curious what they do when AK returns. Hopefully England will be moved when 8 returns, but it'll probably be Jones

Just embrace Lewis & celebrate his March towards 1,000 games. Taking this team seriously at this point is just going to cause pain.

Lewis isn't blocking anyone from developing. Turcotte is out injured & isn't likely to be a long term solution for the King's. Hiller or Blake aren't interested in players with top 6 potential getting ice time. Lee, Helenius, Thomas are all bottom 6 players that will struggle with top line assignments.

The other guys in the AHL aren't going to get ice time. We don't need to worry about that.

Puljujarvi or Roberson (Leafs) are probably the "best" options given the lack of cap space.

Team is trash, but still first in the division!!!!

If it makes you feel better, the Flames drafted Mason McDonald before the Canucks took Demko. They’ve also whiffed on too many high-pick goalies to count on one hand.

Their new policy seems to be to use mid-to-low picks to draft goalie prospects regularly. And it’s working better. Drafting goalies is almost pure luck.

Kings weren't very brave tonight. Stopping short at the point of impact over and over with Calgary skating right on through.
Yep. A real turd laid out there. There was a reason Lee/Helenius seemed to be getting more time out there last night. Lee played more than two minutes above his average for the year and Helenius would have been right there as well if not for the major.

The direct players - Foegle, Lewis Helenius, and Lee did their jobs admirably, the skill players weren't up for the challenge. If you get one on Kuemper, you can get another goal or two quickly on him if you keep pressing.

Their biggest on-ice weakness is a lack of an impact LHD.
