Water under the bridge friend. I get how the misunderstanding happened and apoligize for not being clearer in what I meant.

Never meant to question anything with her, only that story that I had heard.

Once you linked her bio and I read it, my thought was she is kind of being wasted as a scout. She should be front and center and the Kings should be working alongside her in her mission statement. So being on the broadcasts seems a perfect fit for what she is looking to achieve.
Shouldn’t everyone on this team be focused on winning the cup though? Seems like a bit of a distraction to me for a front office that clearly can’t chew gum and walk at the same time. When did we want the best players possible for winning the Stanley cup…. turn into a race matter? Aren’t we just looking for the best players available and not picking by social need?

Not being able to decipher if someone is here to evaluate talent vs for marketing is a HUGE problem.

Unfortunately the depth of discussion is limited because it will get into a political discussion, but...

Expanding the pool of talent will bring in better athletes and thus better players.

And even at the junior age and younger, these programs need to have success. It helps Team USA, grow accessibility to the game, and build a pool of local talent who may one day grow into a superstar and want to sign in LA, like Tavares and Toronto.

The game of hockey is expensive. Socially and economically, the game hasn't been as available to non-white players.

And people can walk and chew gum at the same time. Connor McDavid doesn't spend every waking hour practicing or playing hockey. Dean Lombardi didn't spend every minute to scout every single player and to read/write every single contract.

Just because she takes extra time to grow the game doesn't mean she's unable or unwilling to evaluate talent.

Plus, even if you remove all the transactional benefits, it's just a nice thing to do. And in general, I believe we should be supportive of people who want to give to the community.

So poor black kids are better athletes than poor white kids, Asian kids, or Mexican kids. The team is focusing on one racial community with this hire in particular and not just poor kids? I think this is absolutely wrong!

I just think catering to anyone based on race is exclusionary not inclusive. Oxymoron.

Rob Blake and Luc Robitaille cannot chew gum and walk at the same time. To be honest I’m not so sure how well they focus on a single task at a time.

Her goal is to unilaterally appeal to people that look just like her. That is just so f***ed up I don’t understand how it’s even debatable.

It’s ok to disagree and a longer form discussion on why makes things less confrontational (explanation as opposed to a one sentence answer).

If the scouting meeting is 90 minutes long a week and 20 minutes goes to talking about opportunities to 1 racial group as opposed to 90 minutes on the best players is 20 minutes wasted in my honest opinion. If any of those players are in that tip top group they are getting discussed anyway.

Personally I don’t think anyone is trying to keep black brown or yellow people out of the NHL based on race. I do feel that there is a fascination by the kings in particular though with trying to get one of those races in the game.

It’s kind of weird in my honest opinion.
