I missed the game, but just now seeing the highlights, it's very disappointing the hit that Jeannot threw on Boeser. He will get 1-3 games, but like I say every time these hits happen, the NHL should throw the book at head shots. If you start suspending guys 8-10 games for hits like that, they will happen a lot less. But the NHLPA (like most unions) seem to care more about the worst of their members than anything else. We have a concussion problem and we know the long-term effects, but we are going to protect and push for lesser penalties when one member throws a brutal concussion causing cheap-shot on another member, totally makes sense!

This being one of the Kings most useless players, against one of their best (40 goal scorer), I worry about retaliation against one of our top players like Kopitar or Clarke in the future meetings because of a stupid and selfish decision by Jeannot.

Hughes skating agility is truly generational.. insane

Quite a scary combination to have that kind of skating ability and that type of game-sense. I still have no idea how he fell as far he did in the draft, I know he's undersized, but the elite skating and generational game sense were always going to translate to the NHL.

Poor Akil Thomas on both those goal plays, but what can you do, sometimes you just have to tip your cap to greatness.

Jury is still out on Jeanott...or at least I am...wondering WTF Blake was thinking really
Why should the jury still be out? He pretty much lost the game last night. A no-show most other nights.

Pretty much a textbook no-no. I won't be sad if he gets 5 games.

Was thinking that as well, he didn't physically lose the game, but after that hit, you can feel Canucks energy rise, and the Kings, almost deflate,

It's not like they played bad, (LA that is) but after that hit, the entire game shifted.

I'm not sure I've seen a King player do so much dumb and pointless shit AND lose so many fights in a one month period in my entire fandom.

He's a terrible player, and almost every hit he actually lands is a bad one, presumably because he's trying so hard to hit ANYTHING as he's always chasing the play.

Another trade masterclass by Bowlby

That's saying a lot, considering the Kings have Sean Avery and Brendan Lemieux in their history.

If he doesn't get suspended, I would bench his ass if I were Hiller. The league will probably take care of that.

I don't see how he doesn't get suspended, that was a bad hit, watching live....I caught it how of the corner of my eye initially thought it was a knee actually, and still went, f***....that's not good...and then saw the obvious replay, I get going for the hit, we want him to do that, but stop and go through the guy don't pick off the head....go full, or don't go at all.

Thought of them for sure but Lemieux won his fights and actually scored at a good clip for a bit

I'll take a biter over a black hole who is now actively hurting the team anyday

blake wanted to improve team toughness and got a punching bag. maybe blakes plan was to have his teamates practice on him?
obviously not. but that hit last night was a textbook example of what the leauge says it wants to remove from the game. they probably should remove jennault from the nhl and let him receive and give out brain injuries in the khl. i dont see jennault providing anything to help the kings cause and is just another example of rob blake's incompetence.

Acquiring Jeanott was not the problem. Same with PLD. It is the COST Blake gives up that is the problem. Jeanott should have been like a 5th rounder (maybe 4th at best) -- a 2nd rounder is a joke (TBs GM probably laughed when he got off the phone). Same with PLD -- he should have been a cheap, well-take-him-off-your-hands acquisition (yet Blake paid like he was a young star -- again, GM probably LHAO afterwards).

The prevailing thought on TB board was that he had negative value at 2.67 mil

Lee has made quite a few great saavy plays including defense on Hughes last night

he's done a hell of a lot more nothing than Jeannot and his excuse is he's at least a first time NHLer getting better every game
This isn't even a topic about Jeannot I'm talking about Lee.

Would rather see what Helenius can do.
