Kings!
Nice to smacking down on that team for a change. Glad the refs made the right call on the Anderson hit. Was fully expecting him to get booted given the Kings luck with those types of situations in recent memory.
Much better all around effort. Very happy to see Hiller not stick with the same old lines. Keep 55 at C and enjoy the ride. Yes there's going to be some bad days, but there's going to be some great days as well. Part of the process.
Top line looked improved with 55 off their wing. Curious to see how Turcs meshes with 11&9 and who'll stick there going forward.
Thomas needs to stay in the lineup.
Laf's next challenge is keeping it up for bigger minutes and 82 games.
He evidently gassed out last year; did a full pro season and offseason training help? We'll see.
But he's risen to the challenge of being relied upon, and that's huge on a team where seemingly no one wants to grab the horns.
It's never going to go awayAny more people being annoyed by the constant comments about Faber ?
Looks like some think we traded Larry Murphy all over again. Kid just got a freaking €8.5M contract after one solid year.
Whine about the Vilardi trade. That’s the one that was horrible.
Kid is an obvious #1 Dman right out of the gate that almost won rookie of the year. Both trades make management look extremely incompetent and its embarrassing watching top young players go elsewhere and have success. That's why it keeps getting brought up.Any more people being annoyed by the constant comments about Faber ?

F ya!
If it wasn't for Kings sock night coming up at Crypto I don't know what I would do.
We saw Fiala less Kings against SJo and it looked like a lottery pick contender.
I don't really like Vilardi that much looks like he is middling this season, cant skate ain't C material.
However PLD made it a bust, ya.
Nor do I want to pay Faber 8.5 lol.
We will see how it ages.
The Mickey Mouse club choir continues to sing out of tune here on the daily.
A bunch of sockers in my book!
They will attack you for your opinions if they don't sync with theirs.
Until you exhaust them and outlast them and the team puts together performances to show they have gone way to far over on the dark side.
LA got a 1st line winger in return. Young players having success elsewhere is part of trading.
In hindsight people always know it better here. Where were everyone when Faber got traded. Nowhere with exception of a few, countable on one hand. A whole lot more when Vilardi got traded. That trade actually ruined all chemistry.
Skinner, Zegras, Bunting were Calder finalists too.
I mainly just wanted to make a joke about your legs.I agree but by the letter of the (stupid) law OTL's are half wins
The next several games are gonna be interesting. I am curious how they respond
They also gave up a 1st round pick.LA got a 1st line winger in return. Young players having success elsewhere is part of trading.

More people were upset about the PLD trade than the Fiala trade because we were getting PLD: they would have been pissed off if it was Faber and a 1st for PLD too.
It isn't strange for a fanbase to get excited about receiving a PPG-or-near-it-winger for a later 1st round pick and a prospect that was not ranked as the top prospect in the pool--a pool regarded at the time as one of the best in the league. Throw in that he was a RHD which the Kings had a ton of and you have a "give-to-get" scenario. Problem is that Faber wasn't regarded highly enough and Kevin Fiala is not the guy that was going to push the roster over the top.
PLD was definitely not that player either and Vilardi just finally had a good season after Kings fans suffered through his developmental years. Faber never played a game for the Kings so fans weren't attached to him.
The Faber trade is worse. Why should anyone care about ruining the chemistry of the 2022-23 Kings? What's better for the future of the franchise: having Faber and whoever would have been drafted with the 1st round pick, or having Fiala, Vilardi and Iafallo?
You can't get Faber for Fiala or Vilardi straight-up. Most teams wouldn't do it for a Fiala and Vilardi combo either. Faber is 22 years old, RHD, playing 25 minutes a night. These are Doughty numbers. Vilardi is awesome but he is 25 and still tops out at 63 games played as his high water mark while Kevin Fiala is Kevin Fiala. Going to have to give Vilardi a contract after this season as well and going long term commitment on him is scary. Awesome player but Faber is a franchise cornerstone: the other two are not.
A 1-2 punch of the elite all-around game of Faber and the elite offensive game of Clarke for the next decade + would have been ridiculous. Can spin the Fiala return anyway you want but this team isn't winning with him and he won't be a reason why they become winners while Faber is a set-and-forget RHD1.
As much as this franchise needs to move on from its past, we've been spoiled to have a 1C and 1D for nearly 20 years that came in and were awesome pretty much right away. Hard to remember that this franchise basically never had that before. Took them 12 years to draft another one of those types and they gave it away.
Nope, 95% of the criticism directed at this team right now is 100% deserved, earned, and correct.Any more people being annoyed by the constant comments about Faber ?

No shame in that. You are a man of distinctionI mainly just wanted to make a joke about your legs.

Are we even watching the same player? A lot of Minnesota's recent success is directly related to acquiring Faber. The guy is an absolute stud that tanks minutes like Doughty and also chips in offensively.Fiala, Vilardi and Iafallo, of course.
Faber is absolutely not that good and not even close to Doughty. That really need to stop too.
I wonder if people actually watch Faber.
Come back to me within two years.

Second in rookie scoring. Second in Calder votes. No. 1 defenseman (6th overall average ice time in entire league among all blueliners).Satire, I hope.
Not sure how this compares to Faber and a 1st for Fiala. Even if you want to say the Ducks traded a set-and-forget RHD1, it was for an even younger player with similar draft pedigree. They aren't mortgaging their future although time will tell if they should have held on to Drysdale instead, although his development path obviously took a major hit with his injuries while all Faber did was improve every step of the way.But wouldn't you say PHI and ANA just did? Gauthier for Drysdale....
You actually believe this franchise was a legit contender if the PLD trade wasn't made?Fiala, Vilardi and Iafallo, of course.

What success of Los Angeles? What success of Minnesota ?
If LA wins a couple of games in a row, we never talk about any success but a 1st round exit.
Once again, Faber is a solid player but Minnesota is playoff vodder. That for two decades already.

Faber isn't Drew Doughty but I said he is putting up Doughty numbers. Doughty settled in to that 40-ish point, 25 minute a night range after his 59 point second season. Faber just put up 47 points while eating close to 25 minutes a night in his first full pro season. That doesn't tell the whole story in a Doughty comparison but, of course, we are talking about Drew Doughty. I mentioned the minutes he was eating as being Doughty numbers: that is all.
I will come back to you in two years and we will see how much success the Kings have had and if Fiala is still on the roster.
What success of Los Angeles?
The Kings are playoff fodder and put up more of a fight before Fiala was part of the equation. The Kings have won seven total playoff games since 2014. Minnesota has made the playoffs eight times and actually won a couple of rounds. What are we talking about here? We should thump our chest to the Wild because they missed the playoffs last season while the Kings got boat raced and bounced in five games?
Even if you want to call Fiala a great player and Faber only a solid one, the Kings are fodder themselves. Faber would be contributing longer and at a more important position than Fiala. It's pretty easy to understand.
Now, if this was the World Championships that Fiala can play in every season since they occur once the first round is over, I'd say do the trade because he's awesome in that format.
And the trade came with a large contract extension for Fiala while the ANA/PHI one allowed ANA to have a guy on his full ELC.I think that was a drive by me, saying teams won't trade a young promising D for a dynamic winger etc, which just happened with ANA-PHI, ANA dealt from a position of strength, just like LA, the major difference, is Fiala was as proven dynamic winger, Gauthier isn't.
