Quinton Byfield was drafted to be the Kings future and long time 1C, right? So why isn't QB playing 1C or even 2C?

If I was ownership, I would be very irate with Blake and Hiller for how this team seems to have fallen apart and where the top offensive players are not producing at all! I would fire both immediately! My feeling is the top offensive players don't buy into Hiller's system. This team is playing individually and not as 5 man units.

I'm glad I didnt watch that.
This feels like a really low moment, historically low.
Someone should be fired or traded, just to create accountability in some way.
Hiller is a crap coach and will lead the Kings nowhere.
JFC whats it going to take for a new direction?

Byfield has been quite invisible ever since he scored that highlight reel goal against Columbus.
I got attacked on Lakingsinsider for mentioning what im about to say but I will stick to my guns . I been saying it since the 2020 draft and i will say it again i was preaching and praying we took Stutzle because he reminded me of Patty Kane man do i wish we took him. He had another 4 point game tonight and is a lock for 90-100 points year in and year out

Funny enough, I preferred Stutzle because he was a scoring LW that we didn't have.

The person that needs to be fired is the person that does the firing.

Something may be going on behind the scenes. They have looked mostly horrid this year.
Moore Danault Kempe Kopitar mailing it in.
Fiala skipping a meeting.
Danault changing agents halfway through a contract.
Gavrikov rumor popping up earlier.
Seems like the wheels can fall off this year.
They arent great on paper but also are not as bad as they have been playing.

I feel all of the above.

They have the talent to be playing much, much better. Don't get me wrong, it's not a contender, but it shouldn't be a hail mary every night getting outplayed constantly.

They're better than they look, but I think their record is about right. .about a 95 point team. Black hole central.

But yeah, something seems amiss off ice. I'm not sure I've EVER seen a player get called out as hard as Fiala did last year, respond, then go back to being hammered dog shit this season, getting called out and benched for it, then skipping a meeting. That's some serious self-important behavior, dude thinks he's Iverson I guess.

Who is holding the room together when anyone with a letter or veteran or really any kind of preferential deployment/status is playing and acting like shit?

I'm not throwing in the towel on Byfield, as people seem to think anytime this topic is brought up.

But Stutzle is the better player, and it's not even close. It's been apparent since the moment he stepped on the ice that he was going to be a star.

Doesn't mean Byfield is horrible or a bust, but speaking of Kane, comparing these two is like comparing Kane and JVR.

I watched so many of his highlights before the draft and was in awe of his skill and game . I kept telling my brother in law who played in the GMHL and is an assistant coach for USHL watchout for Stutzle and how much i hoped we took him . I told him he would be the best player from his draft. Soon as we drafted Byfield he texted me saying wtf happened they made mistake etc . Til today i will stick to my opinion that we took the wrong player . Everyone says Stutzle misses his assignments idc id rather have 90-100 points and a couple missed assignments and allow other players to make up for the defensive breakdowns rather than no offense or defense at this point from Byfield .

I agree with you , same topic same argument on lakingsinsider however you and others are more understanding here . I am not saying Byfield is a terrible player i am sure he will develop into a great 2 way player eventually but Stutzle from day 1 and probably their entire careers will be the far superior player and superstar .

Are u referring to Stutzle and Kane ? Well their offensive instincts and ability to make plays at top speed and offensive iq reminded me of eachother. Jus my opinion

Stutzle is definitely the better player now but he’s actually been able to learn his position and grow. Byfield got 40 games between 60 year old Brown and AA, then moved to wing to “learn”. I’m still amazed Byfield at center this season lasted all of 4 games until he was moved back to wing.

Other than Foegle, Turcotte, Laf the lines aren’t working. It’s time to split apart Moore and Danault and Kopitar and Kempe.

Bottom line is Kopitar, Kempe, Danault, Byfield and Moore need to pull their heads outta their asses.

That might just be the worst thing that happened to him. 2 goals in his last 28 games to end the season after that goal, and zero goals in 5 games in the playoffs. None so far this season. That's 2 goals in his last 43 games including this season and last year's playoffs. Not even sure what the hell is going on with him. Had a big hat trick in the preseason game and now is a ghost again. Just a brutal stretch.

Clarke Turcotte and Laf are about the only things worth tuning in for. QB is my biggest disappointment.. We've seen him play where the board is saying we rather have him thatn Stutzle.. now we are back to 22-23 Byfield.. I think he is just a slow developer. I looked at JT Miller numbers and he didnt get to point per game til 26 or 27. Im not giving up on Q but he's a big disappointment.
Edit: I left out Akil. He was great as the stat sheet shows. He almost got another goal on a pass from Moore. He drives to the net presents his stick.. no one else seems to be doing that

If only these guys were as motivated, angry, and aggressive as they were against each other in training camp.

Most aggression this season has been Burroughs on Kaliyev.

Bunch of f***ing p***yes, just rolling over. Absolutely pathetic.

Do they? The defense and goaltending are abysmal. Reminds of an expansion team from the 1990's.

No #1 center, no #1 Dman, no #1 goaltender.

Like I said, they're probably where they should be outcomes wise. But yeah, no matter how hard we are on them, there are a lot of talented no shows so far. Kempe is a #1 W on any team in the league if his head isn't in his ass, for example.

Its really pathetic to lose to such a depleted Sharks team that's missing Cellebrini, Couture, and Vlasic.

Don't forget they're also on a back to back and had only 1 win prior to tonight!
