Solberg with a goal midway through the 3rd to put the Gulls into a lead, 2-1. I only got a screen shot of Solberg's snipe from afar, top shelf. Solberg is at the bottom in green. The Gulls are in their "Los Gulls" Mexican themed jersey night.

Gulls win again. I haven’t been watching, but it seems like the additions of Solberg and Moore have helped the blue line. A lot of the offense is coming from defensemen with so many forwards out.

Crazy what the Gulls are managing to do with what is the worst forward group in the AHL given they are missing basically all their top 9.
Missed today's game v Calgary, but Myatovic was 1+1, Solberg and McKeown 1+0, Heatherington, Bailey and Mysak 0+1. Husso made 20 of 21 saves.
Myatovic has 7 points in his last 10 games, having had 9 in 46 games before that. Can't comment on the Calgary game, but he has been more noticeable since getting moved up the line up, not sure if he's bulked up a little bit, but he's really been throwing his body around and making an impact through physical play.
Gulls currently 4 points off the playoffs with 8 games to play, while Bakersfield have 9 games to play. Bakersfield have the easiest run in based on strength of schedule, though Tucson playing 6 of the final 8 games at home is pretty big for them.

I caught a bit of the Calgary game, off and on.
Husso was good. Bailed out a Moore puck fumble inside the OZone blueline that lead to a Calgary breakaway. Moore's speed was on display on trying to chase down the Calgary forward, but Husso made sure no puck would get by him on that breakaway opp. Aside from that fumbled turnover, Moore did look poised and fluid out on the ice.
Myatovic's goal was all about Bailey's hustle to negate a potential icing call. Odd thing happened. The Calgary goalie came out behind the net to get to the puck and his two defensemen were wide out on either side waiting for a pass. The goalie fumbled it, Bailey stripped it, saw Myatovic streaking down the middle of the ice alone, crashing the net, and Bailey delivered an easy goal for Myatovic. Myatovic is benefiting from playing with more talented forwards. I didn't notice him too much outside of the goal. Again, I was watching off and on.
It was that Myatovic goal that snapped the Calgary dominance in the game up to that point in the 2nd period. After that egregious mistake by the Calgary netminder, the Calgary team felt like they were playing in quicksand (the Replacement version of the definition of quicksand).
I did catch a couple of times when Solberg's on the ice. The D-pairing kept changing; I'm guessing they were running 7D again. I like Solberg's speed whenever a Calgary forward would try to race to negate a potential icing call or to just to get by Solberg on a 1v1 situation. On one play, a puck was sent into the Ducks' zone and a Calgary forward chased the puck down, but Solberg quickly closed the gap. The forward couldn't find the puck and Solberg played the body to knock him down. Crisis averted. Later on, Solberg skated laterally along the blueline, from right to left, and waiting until he got a screen going before his launched his shot to the net. The goalie never saw it as it buzzed by his ear, to the top of the net behind him for a goal. Solberg did a similar move in Farjestad to score a goal like that, waiting for a screen to develop in front of the goalie before shooting the puck towards the net.
The shots that I seen from Solberg and Moore were from above the circles. I think Luneau was the only one pinching deep down often in this game. Although, I have seen Moore pinch down a few times in a previous game.

Life long hockey fan since I was a little kid. In my 40’s now. Originally from Pittsburgh, have been living in San Diego since 2011. Took my son to his first hockey game last night. To the Gulls.
Awesome crowd. Friendly people. And just an all around good time. I enjoyed it my son enjoyed it and wants to go back.
My hats off to you Gulls fans. You have made me one of you.

Even if the coach thinks Solberg is settled in already, I hope they don't call him up this season. He should stay with the Gulls for a while, and then get his chance in training camp in September. Agree?

First time ever watching the Gulls last night, #19 Sidorov, that guy can skate like the wind and he has a dangerous wrist shot.
