We're at it again against Henderson. Solberg on both the PP and PK, why not. He was not on special teams with Färjestad for some reason.

These refs messing up the game with some soft calls, 6 penalties in 12 minutes of play.
Just tuned in... saw Solberg attempt to back pass puck off boards to a trailer... i assume hes not used to the dimensions of the AHL ice yet lol

Solberg was paired with Luneau, and I noticed they were talking a lot to each other. Nice if they're finding chemistry.
Ya they compliment each other nicely…. And I assume Luneau and solberg will be starting in the AHL next year pending us trading a young dmen away for forward help.

So they should get a chance to really create some chemistry together

Solberg 0+2, -1
Moore 0+2, +2

All in 3 games. Solberg seems to be playing a ton. Good start for both.

Gulls seem way too low in their division. How does the playoff race work, what do they need to do?

Top 7 get in from the Pacific Division, Gulls need to make up 8 points in their final 10 games, which likely isn’t gonna happen. The fight back was good, but their start to the year was dreadful and they lost too many bodies in the last month to keep the hot streak afloat

The Regenda for vet Bailey swap worked out well for both teams. Weird that we couldn't unlock Regenda's offense, but we really needed Bailey's vet presence to break out of our scoring funk.

Regenda
Gulls: 36gp, 4g + 12a = 16pts (0.44 ppg), and a -15 rating
Barracuda: 26gp, 7g + 14a = 21pts (0.81 ppg), and a -1 rating

Bailey
Barracuda: 33gp, 7g + 7a = 14pts (0.42 ppg), and a -6 rating
Gulls: 25gp, 9g + 8a = 17 pts (0.68 ppg), and a +4 rating

Last night, Bakersfield earned a loser point and Tucson won. Big game on Friday because it'll be Tucson visiting San Diego at 7pm PDT. The Gulls can make things very interesting if they win in regulation time on Friday.

Getting Solberg and Moore is a huge boost of talent on the blueline. Both have had two assists in the past three games. With several injuries and NHL call-ups, the Gulls were bereft of talent.

Speaking of call-ups, I don't think Nestrenko will be sent back down to the Gulls b/c he's probably auditioning for a bottom-6 role with the Ducks. In the past four games with the Ducks, Nestrenko has scored three goals and has a +3 rating. Similarly with Colangelo, probably gonna stick to Mac's RW for the rest of the season.

Just finished watching the win over San Jose, very good win for the Gulls. Verbeek and Niedermayer were both in the stands to watch the game. Pretty good game for the Gulls overall considering the injuries, after going 1-0 down I think they had the majority of the play up until the final 10 minutes of the 3rd period. Given the Gulls have lost the majority of their top 9 (Colangelo, Pasta, Nestrenko, Gaucher, Meyer) it really is impressive how they have kept in games.

I was quite impressed by Moore in this one, his skating continues to look solid to me and he has some good lateral movement. I know he got two assists, but his best play of the game for me was when the Gulls PP was ending at the end of the 1st period, McKeown hit a low percentage one timer from the corner of the blue line which got blocked into centre ice as the San Jose player was coming out, but Moore had already begun to cover for that and managed to stop the forward before he got a shot on goal. Very impressive from a rookie for me.

Solberg had a decent game. I like how active his stick is and how well he uses his body to win battles. I counted about 15 hits for Solberg in the 1st period, before I stopped counting. He was also used on the 1st PP unit, so it seems the organisation views him as a bit of a 2 way guy. One thing I have noticed though is he does drag himself out of position on a semi-regular basis to try and make a hit, could just be a case of being a bit too eager to impress early on in the AHL but definitely led to a couple of hairy outnumbered rushes the other way (including once when Gulls were on the PK). I've liked his poise too, there was a moment late in the 3rd period where he was clearly gassed but instead of blinding flinging the puck away, had some great sense to manage to avoid the forecheck and feather it up the boards and out to allow a line change.

I REALLY like the addition of Twarynski on the Gulls too and hope they bring him back, just plays a mean brand of hockey and has some decent skill. Can see him being a really nice bottom 6 piece for them next season.

Brutal for the Gulls and brutal for Gaucher who was having a really good second half of the season. I think that injury probably pushes his NHL timeline back a tiny bit, I'd be expecting him to start the year in San Diego now.

As a side note, I really hate how much the Gulls only really seem to post updates on Twitter.
