Yeah, that was a truly woeful game by San Diego.

Hinds-Warren being used as a pairing and then putting Kinal on the second pairing is certainly a vibe.

I think it's extremely weak by Anaheim to send Dionico to Switzerland (pretty sad indictment on the current coaching staff in San Diego too IMO).

They need to get a puck moving defenceman onto the Gulls ASAP. Either by trade or giving Biakabutuka a go. If the plan is to go with Luneau as the only puck moving defenceman for the rest of the season, you can expect to see a ton more 20 or sub 20 shot performances coming up. McKeown being used as a puck moving defenceman is hilarious, it's like if Anaheim decided to use Gudas or Dumo in such a role.

Does anyone have more information on why the Ducks are sending Dionicio back to Switzerland now ?

Of course, there have been a few incidents of indiscipline recently, but there have been before and it looked like he had stepped up his game recently.

I have no info, only my own speculation. Dionicio is capable of making things happen with the puck at the AHL level but he's not buying into (or capable of following) attempts to reign in his risk level and up his efficiency. He's far too "high event" of a player on both extremes, that coupled with the discipline issues is cause for concern.

I'm assuming they've sent him to the ECHL to send a message about learning to be more of a pro - and that Dionicio (+ his agent) balked at the demotion and stated a strong preference to return home if he's not getting AHL icetime.
