Since it’s a three game suspension, can we get a skill player call up please?
Pasta time??
Pasta time??
OK, but where are we supposed to find that?
I know, "they'll figure it out."![]()
I haven't looked at the advanced stats being referenced, but the Crash the Pond podcast rants at length about how Dumo-Trouba is statistically one of our worst pairings. They bring it up often when they talk about why they want Cronin fired. Take that for what it's worth.I hope we aren't worse when we trade Dumo. We did experiment with a youth third pairing when we put Dumo-Trouba together as our 2nd pairing for a spell of games. Then we did away with it b/c our youth third pairing were being exposed. Since then, we just shorten the bench at the end of games to see Dumo-Trouba again. We have to juggle up the pairings if the youth 3rd pairing doesn't work.
Pasta or Colangelo would be nice. Knowing Cronin though, it'll be Leason moved up and Harkins brought back in.Since it’s a three game suspension, can we get a skill player call up please?

It's easier to deal with if you just remember the adage about not worry about things you can't control.Yup, exactly. So the assumption would be to put a player who is starting to heat up now(Leo) with a player who had nice chemistry with them in the past but has cooled off a little (Mac).
Nope. Let’s put Brett Leason up there. Lol.
Heck, I’d even put Cutter up there who has some confidence now and gives Leo that sniper he needs.
Nope, let’s put Ross Johnston up there.
I’m getting ahead of myself. But I know Cronin too well. I’ll even apologize if Mac or Cutter are up there tomorrow.

My point is more, you’re willing to add context to why the goaltending is carrying us (because lack of advanced stats… which is fair), but not willing to add the context of us having 5 sophomores and 2 rookies, plus 9 players 24 and younger also probably attributes to the reason why we are struggling against grown men. And those are the recent top 10 picks / early 2nd rounders on that list, whom are being aggressively developed at the NHL level. The Ducks being near the bottom in nearly every significant statistical category except goaltending is not comparable to what you've listed here.

Instead we want to blame the GM and coach, when in reality I don’t see a world where we are a top 20 team in advanced stats. Now being bottom 1-3 in those stats isn’t something to just write off, but I truly believe no one is willing to give the grace to our staff because numbers aren’t immediately jumping off the page. (Like Leo has 6 pts in his last 5, if he continues that pace he would have 53 pts and 57 over 82, which I think people would be less worried about his season. Not saying factual that will happen, but we aren’t giving the kids any chance to turn their season around, and I’ve pointed out Barkov went on like a 14 points in his last 13 games in his second year to boost his PPG stats, that were pretty meh, and he never looked back.)
Since (including that game)our home game against Florida does anyone know how our defensive numbers match up against the league during that time span? I think crash the pond said we were 15th….. is that not improvement if it can continue the final 26 games ?
