2024 25 Roster Thread 3 the Nations and after

Way down on the list of things to argue about. In the big picture it is meaningless.

Many say they want them to tank to put themselves in the best position possible to get a high pick. Then complain that ND is in the lineup. Does ND help with getting the best pick possible?
Lets not confuse their intention though with this move they are making. They actually value Nicky Fists and think he brings positive contributions to the team. They aren't waiving Lycksell cause they are tanking. None of the moves they make are for the purposes of tanking, that's just a by product of their shitty management.

I don't think it's a nothing burger I think they will continue to value things that don't matter, and thus will be unable to ice a line up where each line can compete in today's game. It's Nicky fists and lycksell today but years later it will still be face puncher vs competent 4th liner. I wonder who they will choose.

This guy is still on the roster but hasn't played yet?

Doesn’t the team have to put a player on the opening day roster each season before placing him on LTIR for that season?
No, but it does change the amount of LTIR space you get from them.

If you're under on day one and then use LTIR, you get the player's full cap hit as your pool. If you require LTIR to be compliant, you get just the overage as a pool.

If anyone knows I will buy you a drink whenever I am in the US next if you show me a good bar aha.

Direct passes by forwards and defenseman that lead to shots. Orange and black are flyers (for). Yellow and blue are opposition (against).

The dots probably are the location of the pass itself. Then you can geolocate that with RTSS data.

Maybe it’s a Powerplay?

The league and players association have to do something equitable for both the player and the team for legitimately injured players. The current situation just isn’t working out. It’s too punitive for random injuries. There was nothing unreasonable about Ellis’ contract yet forcing a team to be handicapped for this long because of an injury this unexpected is not only hurting the team, but hurts the leagues drawing power as a whole.
If a guy LTIRetires, give him his money and take the cap hit away. If he plays again in any capacity including alumni, the team gets hit with 2x the cap hit for the duration of the contract. Have escalators if it's under a certain amount.

Close but no cigar! All will be revealed in a few days.

Is this a hockey equivalent of packing? I'm not super familiar with soccer, but I saw a presentation on it a while back.

I'm guessing this because I'm assuming that for example the oranges are against Defensemen. The clustering is both below the circles and near the blue line, which makes sense for D vs puck carriers. This would also mean that the dots are where first touch occurred?

But first round is on me either way. :)

Not a million miles away! Packing is super interesting and have thought a few times about trying to translate it to hockey.

But a bit simpler!

And yeh, hopefully next season will be in the US for some elongated time... not just a few days like last May.

I wondered that too. We know Coots and Luch aren’t going anywhere. They love Cates and Poehling has been on a heater lately. Probably just run it back.
I don't see an option for c in free agency unless Tavares is willing to leave Toronto. Giroux maybe? Lyons return might make deadhead happy he was a supporter. But I don't think even he sees him as any kind of solution. Upgrades are possible with cap space available but I'm of the opinion if you don't see a long term asset then keep the money for right now. The only guy I'd target and pay full price for is ekblad who we could partner with sanheim until they both retire

I had a similar idea, so I ran a quick check of shots for and against to match. Curiously matches the shot outputs for the Flyers/Caps game on March 30.

If it's related to shot attempts and not actual shots, then it opens up more options.

After reading Appleyard's post, and before scrolling, I said to myself, if there is anyone that is going to be able to guess this correctly, it's either going to be you or Jojo
