2024 25 Roster Thread 3 the Nations and after

Will he stay next season? Should he? Just trying to understand the implications here and how good (bad?) he has been lately.
York could have deflected, but he was directly asked in his presser today about being here beyond this season and he definitively said this is where he wants to be.

He's been "fine". The whole team has been a mess since before the deadline (excluding last night where they finally looked like they enjoyed hockey again) and York wasn't immune from that.

Who knows what management thinks about him long term?

TSN...there was an altercation between Torts and York where both guys crossed the line. Torts had a totally different look in the 2nd and 3rd period...looked totally disengaged.

Ohhhh f*** off, big guy is happy to crush career earnings and play with livelihoods and the second someone is a little mean to him in return (which he pretends he wants) he mopes. f*** all the way off.

Torts getting fired in embarrassing circumstances and the Flyers finishing about 26th is about as good as we could have hoped for going into this season.

Yeah but 2 games ago finishing bottom 4 and Torts being fired at the end of the season embarrassingly was definitely on the table. All we did was ensure the draft pick is going to be worse by firing him early.

Tank for McKenna next year and offer sheet Bedard next summer. They have sacrificed over a decade to the hockey gods for this to come to fruition. Its fool proof!

Excluding Tocchet, any names leak who they may have interest in coaching wise?

Sullivan, if he gets fired. Shaw and Lappy (ew) might be in the running. Carle and Quenville’s names have also been tossed out there. Who knows?
Cant see Sullivan wanting to come here at all. He is a vet coach who IMO want to coach a contender. H would rather take a year off and see what open sup the following season.

Carle cant see either as he will be in demand and have his pick. Nothing all that enticing about the Flyers.

Probably take the easy way out ands it will be Shaw.

Whitney on Chiclets was saying “what he heard” was that after the first period against Toronto, Torts said something to York about if he signs an extension (in Philly) Torts is going to bury him. And supposedly York came back and said he was going to be here longer than Torts.

Whitney said it was hearsay but definitely sounded like he knew something.

So glad John the dino is gone. Now if only all the other dino dominoes could start to fall.

Well that inspires my inner conspiracy theorist. Could York's suspension be more about he was told by Briere that Torts was gone at the end of the season in contract negotiations? And York telling Torts that hurt Torts' ego hence why he made the comments he did about not wanting to coach the team? So York got a suspension for giving out privileged information?

No as common sense would tell you if York did sign an ext he would 100% be here longer than JT.

If that happened wonder if any of the other players laughed out loud.

They'll probably qualify him :dunno:
Wont cost much though does he really offer anything they cant find elsewhere in the system? Maybe Danny tried to save face as well b keeping him. Guess 1 year deal wont do any harm.

I want this to be true. Not that people like that should even exist, but for the sake of confirmation. Anyone who bothered to think for a minute would conclude he’s a trash human.
