Nothing really exciting with Jones on PHLY. Shut it off halfway.

Mentioned Luchanko. “Bit of a broken year, we likely contributed to that keeping him up with us”

The usual lines about Risto/Laughton, they are listening not shopping them.

Acknowledged not a lot of high end in draft, but a lot of good quantity that should help them.

Following that up with there not being a lot of high end talent in the draft that they were trying to get as many picks for is also a good one
They’re now spinning it as a deep draft. He talked about Centers ofc. I’m setting the O/U at six in the top two rounds. Said he’s in Brampton (against Oshawa) and going to Barrie next (against Owen Sound) if you want to guess who they are looking at.

Hyped up Bump again too lol.

They like the centers, but they also love Cates as a middle six C, Poehling as a botton six C that can move up if needed and think Luchenko is a 1C. So, basically we are trying to corner the market on centers that don't move the needle?

"no quality but lots of meat n potatos.." perfectly sums up this Org. view on drafting...

The only thing that terrifies them more than losing and being bad is being proven to be wrong. They think they can spin being bad. Being obviously wrong about your draft gambit, though, they can't have that. That must be avoided as vigorously as possible.

It's the whole reason they hired Jones as Pres. Being good is less important than conning the gullibles and appearing to always be right.

Jonesy on the bridge of the SS Flyers, “Iceberg? What iceberg? Full speed ahead, we have culture on our side!”

This organization is the absolute worst
Oh you sweet summer child, be forewarned, it will get even worse.

Luchenko is definitely going to be thrown into the NHL as a 19 year old whether it's good for his development or not. Probably the only way that won't happen is if they win the lottery and draft Hagens. Then they will try and throw him in as a 19 year old instead.
I like how they admitted they f***ed with Jett's development this year by keeping him on the team, but are determined to learn nothing from that and force him onto the team next year development be damned.

I don't know if he's going to bust, but putting him on the team next year definitely makes me nervous.

Konecny was a (imo) much better prospect at the same age, and he started in the NHL in his D+2 and was decent for his age but put up 20 points. Frost had a monster D+1 compared to Luchanko's so far, and look how that turned out. Farabee came over in his D+2 and the Flyers "developed" him into a camp dump with negative value.

My point is, better forward prospects than JL have been through here and struggled, despite their better play and pedigree. The team is setting another young player up for failure.
