This is a high enough percentage that it actively makes me think that it'll end up costing us in trade negotiations.

A decade plus of failure and mismanagement, be a f***ing Flyer!Matvei will be just the next sacrificial lamb.
As was Giroux, Coots, Ghost, as will be Konecny, etc etc.
I could clarify I suppose.
What has he done to significantly raise the talent level of the team?
Other than Michkov, I can’t say anything. Hes sat on his ass, and happily waddled up draft 10th, and seems prepped to do it again.
Rebuilding buys a GM grace, buys them time - but moving out a few guys that they don’t see as a fit (or they ask out as was the case of Prov) - and doing little else is problematic.
Again, say Briere misses the dance again next season. That’s 3 seasons where he’s asked for patience, but accomplished what exactly to bring in high end talent?
The way it looks to me, is he’s hoping free agency or a trade will save the day. He’s running out of time. He’s wasted his tenure so far - as I see it.

No problem. Rebuild will be over in 18 months. LMAOI don’t think a lot of fans realize how many pieces they are missing in order to be a contender.
First off, they don’t have a #1 goaltender. Sure, Ersson has been playing well but he has yet to show the consistency or the durability needed to be a #1 on a contender.
On D, they need a #1 to pair with Sanheim on the top unit and someone to play with York on the second pairing.
Up front they need both a 1st and a 2nd line center, plus they need a 1st line LW.
There is little in the current prospect pool that can fill these needs. They have a couple of goaltending prospects who might pan out and become starters, but they are far from sure things. On D, Bonk is the only guy with any kind of legitimate chance of playing in the top 4 and even he has virtually no shot of being an all situations top pair player. At forward, Luchanko might be a 2C someday, but there is just as much of a likelihood that he tops out as a 3C.
Now add to that an organization that has done nothing to show that they can help skilled players develop and improve their game and one that thinks Jett Luchanko is more valuable than Zeev Buium and it’s damned hard not to be extremely pessimistic. They are dominated by a coach who has shown little ability to grasp how to run a successful team in today’s NHL or how to properly treat players and the guy in charge of the entire organization is enamored with players who achieved their greatest success way back in the 1970s.
Yeah, things are just peachy.
Last chance market to pull value out of Scotty. Danny better do it.A couple interesting things from Spector's Hockey you guys may already know.

- No roster freeze during Four Nations.

THE HOCKEY NEWS: Spencer Lazary speculates the Blue Jackets might hit the trade market for someone to replace Kirill Marchenko. The 24-year-old winger is sidelined indefinitely with a broken jaw.
Lazary suggested Scott Laughton of the Flyers and Ryan Strome of the Anaheim Ducks as trade targets. He also acknowledged they might have to look within their organization for help.
SPECTOR’S NOTE: Losing Marchenko was a big blow to the Blue Jackets’ offense. He won’t be easy to replace.
The Flyers are reluctant to move Laughton, but if they peddle him, the Jackets will be bidding with several contenders for his services.
Strome is third among Ducks scorers with 30 points and has two years remaining on his contract. They’re rebuilding but they don’t seem in a rush to trade him.

FLAMES INTERESTED IN COZENS
TSN: Pierre LeBrun reports the Calgary Flames remain willing to add to their roster after acquiring Morgan Frost and Joel Farabee last week from the Philadelphia Flyers.
LeBrun said Calgary is interested in Dylan Cozens but they’re not the only ones, adding that two-thirds of the league have checked with the Buffalo Sabres about the 23-year-old center. The Flames are in the market for a right-shot center.
This is basically what i've been saying to anyone who will listen. Let's just say absolute best case scenario:I don’t think a lot of fans realize how many pieces they are missing in order to be a contender.

Good luck with that.It seems like they have to hit on almost all of those needs in this draft.
This is basically what i've been saying to anyone who will listen. Let's just say absolute best case scenario:
Michkov, TK, Foerster, Luchanko, Couts, Brink, Pelts
Sanheim, Drysdale, Bonk, York
Ersson, Zav
That team still f***ing sucks. And it isn't one or two pieces away.
Ekblad is already on the downside of his career. The massive 7 year contract it would take to get him to leave the no state tax, nice weather state of Florida would be a huge mistake.I mean if those pieces are, say, Ekblad and Pettersson, maybe there's something.
But do you believe Briere would be able to acquire one, let alone both?
I think the chances of them getting anyone worth a f*** are about as slim as Deadhead coming in here and going "Sorry, guys, The Flyers organization was paying me, the checks have dried up, so here are my actual opinions."I mean if those pieces are, say, Ekblad and Pettersson, maybe there's something.

But i wouldn't want Ekblad
Drysdale is terrible. He can’t play defense for anything. He has no offensive sharpness. He’s not very strong at all. All this about his skating? It’s not that good either. Once every 3 games he will move to the middle from the point and it doesn’t usually help him on defense. Trading a top prospect for this guy is so terrible. It’s even worse when the same people likely advised to package picks to get rid of Ghost who I liked WAY better.
We need so much around MM. There is simply no way around it. You can’t afford to keep guys here for culture or whatnot.
