Probably an improvement for him even it’s still not good.
Will be interesting if this team continues to slide before then if they make a major move to try to generate excitement going into this. If not they’re walking into a hornets nest after raising prices.
Are they though? I feel like this is the only place where I feel like I'm sane. Go on reddit. Twitter, the Athletic and it is nothing but stepfords who think Briere is crushing it.Will be interesting if this team continues to slide before then if they make a major move to try to generate excitement going into this. With Rocky remaining as the PP coachI'm looking forward to Ian Laperriere's inexplicable yet inevitable descent up the company ladder as he becomes the team's next GM after Briere.
This is what we're dealing with though. Taken from a comment to The Athletic's article where Kurz "analyzed" all of Briere's trade to date:One more season where they miss the playoffs, and even the diehards that believe will start to question things.
Briere has left himself a runway that’s getting exceedingly shorter - without having brought in anything meaningful other than Michkov.
If they miss again next year, Briere is in hot water.
The odds of real change are low, but I’ll always hope I guess.
Fair enough but what writers out there are writing about this honestly? Flyers have a propaganda team that would make Himmler blush with envy.Comment sections are a reflection of who is reading the writer. People who care to look at things critically aren’t reading Kurz. That’s the home of platitudes and boogeymen.

Does the Inquire/Daily News even assign people to regularly cover the Flyers anymore?
I know Sam got replaced by two girls but I think the one got let go completely & the other one moved to Eagles coverage for them not too long after that.
The website lists someone named Jackie Spiegel as a Flyers Reporter, but I don't read it anymore so I don't know if that's a full time gig or not.
(And also the woman who was moved to the Eagles.)
This is what we're dealing with though. Taken from a comment to The Athletic's article where Kurz "analyzed" all of Briere's trade to date:
"I think Danny and Jonesy stick around for a while. I don’t see a single trade here that is negative- the only one that might be questioned is trading the pick and not getting Buium, but Luchanko looked better than I expected with the big club and must be playing well in the O because he was just named captain in Guelph, he just needs time to develop.
Danny and Jonesy getting draft capital and grabbing young guys in the draft is a good plan for a rebuilding team.
Frost and Farabee had gone stale and needed a fresh start. Both young, but I think they reached their peak production here in PHI, and it wasn’t much. Kuzmenko and Pelletier are also both young and while they haven’t exactly been superstars, maybe they got stale in Calgary too. Kuzmenko had a great rookie year and seems to do alright after being traded. Both are also FA (Kuz is UFA and Pelle RFA) after the season, so if they don’t preform we could offload them. It’s looking good for the Flyguys"
So this guy thinks the Luchanko pick was fine in retrospect because he's wearing the C in the OHL.
Then he thinks the Frost/Farabee trade is good because: (1) Kuzmenko and Pelletier are "young" (they're not but whatever); (2) Kuzmenko has in the past performed well briefly after being traded (totally irrelevant); and (3) if they stink they're gone. Briere can never fail where every trade is good provided the players you got back are good or gone if not.
i swear its why this Org. will never changeAre they though? I feel like this is the only place where I feel like I'm sane. Go on reddit. Twitter, the Athletic and it is nothing but stepfords who think Briere is crushing it.
