He was no Dan Kordic.I distinctly remember this team trying to develop Morin as a forward, so you must be thinking of someone else.

Not how things work. Entirely too simplistic and you know that. You don't think Barkey has a chance to make the NHL?
The FLA pick was #32, that's the worst Edmonton can be, we'll see where they end up, all it takes is an injury or a goalie going south for a downward spiral.
File this as another great evaluation by this organization.
Yes, thank you for proving the Flyers sent a player to the AHL who was out playing 5 of the 6 starting NHL defencemen.last 17 games (since lines were set and forwards playing a lot better):
Sanheim xGF 56.25%, HDCF 56.54%
Risto xGF 60.28%, HDCF 55.30%
York xGF 54.51%, HDCF 54.82%
Seeler xGF 59.91%, HDCF 54.16%
Drysdale xGF 61.17%, HDCF 59.21% [11 games]
Zamula xGF 65.91%, HDCF 64.91% [12 games]
Andrae xGF 65.16%, HDCF 63.58% [9 games]
Seeler is Drysdale's "caddy."
Zamula has no options left.
York has been a major disappointment this season. Perhaps it's because he hasn't fully recovered from his injury earlier in the season or maybe it's that he's going into his RFA season and is looking for a new deal. Either way, he hasn't performed as expected. A lot more was needed out of him.Never mind that York is going in a troubling direction this year as he becomes even safer, which is the last thing he needed.
He's been dinged, he's also getting the toughest matchups, paired with Sanheim.York has been a major disappointment this season. wait till you see were MM is by season end under Torts... you wont have any hair left to pull outYork has been a major disappointment this season. Why do you allude to every player being "dinged" when their performance isn't up to snuff or the like? He's been dinged, he's also getting the toughest matchups, paired with Sanheim.
It's not like he's been terrible, just hasn't taken a step up this season.
They are flat out horrible at it. Because every single one they try and develop they try and turn them into stay at home or “safe” defensemen. Hagg had some offense to his game and look what they did to him. Maybe he still turned out to be a bad pick but every single time they try and turn players into something they are not. This one may be more befuddling than saying the Flyers are good at developing goalies.
The Flyers have barely had any half decent home grown defenseman in my lifetime, let along great ones.
If there’s one thing that they’re absolutely not good at it’s developing defenseman.
Gotta load up on safe players without any discernable skill other than size.I think there’s a pretty safe chance that someone like Lane Hutson ends up better than who the Flyers select with that Edmonton pick. Maybe their own. But this might be the best class in NHL history coming up, according to Flahr, so there’s room for positivity.
Given that FLA could take Forsling off waivers and turn him into a 1st pair D-man, I suspect the problem wasn't Flyers development (neither TB or Nash could salvage him,) but Myers' brain.Phil Myers was about as physically gifted as you can get. The Flyers "developed" him so well that even Nashville (an org with an actual reputation for being good with Dmen) couldn't reverse engineer him.
We only gave drafted 11 defensemen that went on to play at least 500 games in the NHL,
Senators 10
#beaf***ingFlyer!!!!Senators have 1 less despite being in the NHL since 1993 instead of 1967?
That may well be true, but you'd think a team known for developing Dmen (as COC said) could do better. The point was more about that ridiculous statement than Myers.Given that FLA could take Forsling off waivers and turn him into a 1st pair D-man, I suspect the problem wasn't Flyers development (neither TB or Nash could salvage him,) but Myers' brain.
Even Risto could be turned around with the right coach.
