Sellers usually don't bring in Eric Johnsons at the deadline.
They do when they trade Walker for a 1st rd pick and have two other D-men injured.

The Flyers flipped G and got Tippett. Want to send Tippett to Ottawa for G now? I’d do it for several .
G is a free agent after this season. Given the ongoing mess in Ottawa, he might well want to end his career in Philly.
However, it would come down to his wife, since she's from Ottawa (I think).

On a modest two year contract extension, G would be a great addition to the club. He’d help solidify the center position until some younger guys come along. He’d help solidify could mentor them. Trading Tippett for him would get rid of an inconsistent player on an expensive contract.

They don’t though. They call up someone from the minors and call it a day.

Not trade a 4th round pick for a scrub.

Just imagine how the Flyers would’ve evolved if they had drafted any of these players;
Mikko Rantanen
Cale Makar,Miro Heiskanen or Elias Pettersson
Tage Thompson
Alex DeBrincat
Cole Caufield
Shane Pinto
J.J Peterka
Logan Stankoven
* The Flyers have the most incompetent scouting staff EVER!
Missed out on some big time talent there.

none of those players would be what they are today, here..

we would more likely have ended up being NP V2.0...

Another way to think about it: why will this team be more dangerous in the years to come? Besides Michkov improving, are they maxed out as a 20-25th ranked offense by design?
Until this team gets centers that are dangerous of course not. Combine that with mediocre goal tending the only way they can win is to choke teams out. In the last ten or so games it's worked. Thats good coaching, poor team construction.

If they had better centers, the wings are more than good enough.
Flyers are 26th in 5x5 scoring, 22nd overall.

Yes, they’re so deep on the wing (sans TK and Michkov) with an entire team of core age players who are regressing, with more than 1 likely to be traded eventually. Sanheim with no PP time has more goals and points than every other wing on the team.

They’re not “good enough” at any position. They’ll likely pass on another potential top 6 wing in the name of fit. Hell, they’ve done it already.

Foerster looking like dog water out there certainly throws a wrench in the "they have great wingers" plan moving forward. I see Michkov taking over when TK begins to slow, but outside that?

Farabee looks worse very year. Tippet is bong water. Foerster is having a down year. Brink looks like a prime trade candidate. Who is left after that we can be confident will be good when this team wants to compete?

I'd see how the season turns out before jumping to conclusions.
Last 11 games, 7-2-2:
TK xGF 54.41%, HDCF 60.79%
Couts xGF 54.93%, HDCF 59.78%
Farabee xGF 50.43%, HDCF 55.96%
Tippett xGF 52.08%, HDCF 46.93%
Laughton xGF 51.10%, HDCF 59.39%
Cates xGF 42.60%, HDCF 43.94% [GA/GA 9/1]
Foerster xGF 52.64%, HDCF 56.39%
Hathaway xGF 48.41%, HDCF 57.47%
Brink xGF 45.61%, HDCF 51.91%
Michkov xGF 41.76%, HDCF 27.82% [GF/GA 5/0]
Poehling xGF 50.44%, HDCF 61.55%
Frost xGF 54.60%, HDCF 48.90%
Richard xGF 46.72%, HDCF 43.49%

Sanheim xGF 48.06%, HDCF 51.80%
Risto xGF 49.26%, HDCF 51.70%
Seeler xGF 35.89%, HDCF 33.41%
Andrae xGF 67.05%, HDCF 64.74%
Zamula xGF 53.36%, HDCF 54.52%
York xGF 54.44%, HDCF 61.56%
Grans xGF 51.14%, HDCF 60.32%

We'll see if they're back where they were last season or this is a phantom turnaround.
But a lot of guys who were struggling seemed to have turned a corner.
