lol remember the dump n chase AV era... hey we have posession.. lets toss it in n try to get it back..

truely no non dentists could predict that scheme wouldnt have good outcomes
It was always minimally designed and didn't seem to pay any attention to on-ice situations, but it didn't get really bad until he decided a 1-4 forecheck was the best way to soothe the likely management demands that he be more defensive. One man puck pursuits against 2 or 3 players were routine. Zero support entries. What a bum. Pure laziness. I've made my anti-Tortorella bent clear for close to 15 years, AV is worse.

And the secret hidden Worst Of All option remains disturbingly available: Dallas Eakins. The final boss of suffering.

Why didn't you post 24-25?

I'm still very confused about sending Richard down. Should he have performed better than..

2 goals, 4 assists, +4 in his 7 games?
He's not a 70 point player. He got lucky with a few of his points, but the fact does remain -- he played very well in his 7 games with the flyers. He should still be on the roster IMO.

It was more about AV, just seeing if he impacted possession.
Seems talent matters more than coaching?

Do you think rebuilding bottom 10 teams so easily can fit visibly useful players with 6 points in 7 games on $775k contracts?

The fact that they want to be a playoff team makes even less sense. The trick is to realize it’s just an episode of Hoarders, and they’re cap strapped with sentimental junk with which they can’t part. There’s no room!

Richard got caught in a numbers game.
Once you put Frost back in, who you gonna sit?
Laughton is going to play both b/c of PK and b/c you've got to build his value.
The other young forwards are 3-5 years younger than Richard.

I expect at some point he'll return, unless Tuomaala jumps ahead of him, but he'd have to improve his 5x5 play to do that.

Richard was riding a scoring heater, he's got good speed, has offensive skills but also gets ridden off the puck, and is below average defensively.

Do you want him taking PT from Foerster or Brink.

You can pretty easily sit Laughton.

They aren't worried about building his value anyway. He isn't being traded.

No reason Laughton and Hathaway have to play every game. Hell, if Frost is the standard, you could make a case for sitting Bee, Forester, Tippet, or Cates a game here and there.

You realize the Flyers are only 2 points out of a PO spot.
They're not giving up on this season quite yet.
If Ersson gets healthy they have a legitimate shot, doubt they're going anywhere with Fedotov/Kolosov.

Buffalo 23, Boston 23, Flyers 21, NYI 21, CBJ 20, Detroit 20 - fighting for 2 spots
NYR 25, FLA 25, TB 24 aren't exactly out of reach

They are 22nd in point percentage, with 11 eastern conference teams in front of them.

I think they haven’t been playing as well as the could be, but they need to turn it around quickly.

Still believe he has a place in the lineup over… Brink and Farabee right now, both those players need to wake the F up. Farabee seems to be turning a corner, I think Brink got jerked around too much this year to hit a real flow. Also the way Tyson is getting deployed right now he might as well go to the AHL and get big minutes, it’s kind of a disaster, but I think Richard earned a spot in the here and now.
