Andrae is waiver exempt and only 22 so it was predictable.Deflating for Andrae.
Ginning with the main roster instead of Andrae is the only "surprise".

Has Cates ever been healthy scratched before? I don't recall it happening. And the potential healthy scratch to fit, say, Luchanko would probably be Cates or Deslauriers. May also be Brink, but hopefully not.
I'm assuming they want Andrae to be "the guy" in LV - and then maybe he takes EJ's spot?Deflating for Andrae.

As always, the authentics will buy into their bullshit. They are probably hoping that Luchanko plays well enough to stick, even though that’s probably not best for his development, because it makes them look smarter for drafting him. If so, they will end up rotating him in and out of the lineup as Torts blathers about how watching from the pressbox is actually a good thing for the kid.
Remember, when it comes to the top of the organization, it’s not about winning. Of course, they’d like to win, but ticket sales, merch sales and tv ratings are ownership’s main concerns.
Also, don’t forget, the stadium is much more important to Comcast than the on ice success of its hockey team.
It’s clear they want Luchanko to make the team. We should operate under the guise that he’s on it until proven otherwise.
Too late, my friend. The PR (propaganda) train is chugging.Yeah I've gone fast from "Give him some games (Under 9) and get a current baseline for him and the team" to "send him down immediately before you're tempted to make him a permanent fixture for PR."
Imagine if they weren't so attached to the dead weight of Laughton and Deslauriers, they'd have room for Lycksell and Desnoyers,Charlie mentioned that in his opinion, there are 13 forwards that are locks for the NHL opening night roster.
That includes Brink, who is no longer waiver exempt.
C - Frost, Couturier, Poehling, Laughton
LW - Farabee, Foerster, Tippett, Cates, Deslauriers
RW - TK, Michkov, Brink, Hathaway
The defense is also essentially locked.
York, Sanheim
Seeler, Drysdale
Zamula, Ristolainen
Johnson
But he did mention that because of the cap room opened up from the Johansen termination, it's possible, even likely, that they carry 14 forwards on the opening road trip.
His guess, if that happens, is one of Luchanko, Lycksell, Desnoyers, or Richard.
Abols and Eklind were honourable mentions but unlikely.

And that is going to be part of their undoing this season. Injuries happen. Hello bottom five in the League.Their depth is terrible.
Lycksell is in the mix.Imagine if they weren't so attached to the dead weight of Laughton and Deslauriers, they'd have room for Lycksell and Desnoyers,
He's a LHD. Johnson is a RHD.I'm assuming they want Andrae to be "the guy" in LV - and then maybe he takes EJ's spot?
In the mix for what? To be the one to sit in the pressbox each night?Lycksell is in the mix.
Desnoyers ain't NHL ready. He needs more AHL time.
He's a LHD. Johnson is a RHD.
They want Andrae to be the guy, run the PP, first pair, etc.
They really don't have anyone to replace Johnson this season, Attard, Grans, Samson haven't shown enough.
Bonk will have a shot at a RHD job next season, his progress may determine whether they move Risto.
Sotheran will be in LHV next year, Mills 2nd post-draft season in AHL.
But keep an eye on Mann.
I hate splitting Frost and Michkov
Cates at 3C, and Laughton at 4LW.
Luchanko splitting time at 2C with Couts with Foerster & MIchkov as the wings
Lycksell is in the mix.

Hextall and CF.And who's fault is it that they don't have anyone better to replace Johnson this year?
Torts laffs...I hate splitting Frost and Michkov
Some chatter around that the Leafs might like to take on Laughton. Berube likes him. However IDK what they'd have to give to the Flyers in order to make such a deal go down.Imagine if they weren't so attached to the dead weight of Laughton and Deslauriers, they'd have room for Lycksell and Desnoyers,
It was said they are getting a long look. Very shocking.Charlie mentioned that in his opinion, there are 13 forwards that are locks for the NHL opening night roster.

Always entertaining to read this daily. It does take 2 teams to make a trade right? The way you pump up Risto why do you want to move him? There is no one knocking on the door you have said.Lycksell is in the mix.

Other teams have always had interest in Laughton, that's not the problem. The problem is the Flyers treating him like he's prime Bobby ClarkeSome chatter around that the Leafs might like to take on Laughton. Berube likes him. Yeah there's no way the Leafs pay the 4 first round picks required for the Flyers to even entertain trading Laughton.Other teams have always had interest in Laughton, that's not the problem. The problem is the Flyers treating him like he's prime Bobby Clarke
ummm he is foundational.... DB himself said hes not trading LaughtonOther teams have always had interest in Laughton, that's not the problem. The problem is the Flyers treating him like he's prime Bobby Clarke
