Nothing he just didn't make the playoff lineup, they have Korchinski, Levshunov, Allan, Del Mastro all there, then Kuzmin who they got in the Phillips deal and Fitzgerald, a good vet pro who was there all season and voted team MVP. Just a bit crowded with the send downs for a kid on an ATO.

Stauber was not qualified because the Hawks still had Mrazek under contract, another year of Soderblom under contract and then also went out and signed Laurent Broissoit to be the backup (which obviously did not work out), and Commesso as the top AHL goalie prospect in the system. So there wasn't really a spot for him. If they had theoretically known Broissoit would unavailable leading to Soderblom being in the NHL all season, perhaps they try to re-sign him, but as is Rockford's second goaltender was 2001-born (two years younger than Stauber) Mitchell Weeks on an AHL deal who had spent the prior two seasons in the Rockford/Indy Fuel (ECHL) system. I don't think they were too bent up about it. Stauber is now 26 and still only had light NHL work. I don't think is in line to be a backup next year, probably being signed to a 2-way deal to indicate Utah views him as an organizational third goalie with a shot if an opportunity opens up, and a bridge to when they can get their top goalie prospect in Hrabel some more extensive work.
Im pretty sure Eaton has like no interest in being an AHL coach. Would be cool if Hogs went on a run. They’ve never been good…ever.
Eaton was an assistant GM or something right? I guess it would be up to him if he wants to go into coaching. But not everyone does, he just stepped up in a time of need.
