Ive openly criticized the pick but these past couple of games you can see the raw athleticism that Lev brings to the table. He frequently out muscles these grown men and if he's able to take them on this way at 19 and he keeps developing he could very well be a freak by like 25. He just looks like this pitbull-like ball of strength and power out there.

I also saw him let go of a bomb of a slapshot for the first time like ever 2 games ago that frankly I didnt even know he had in him.

I think what's going to make or break his ability to become a top pairing D is truly engagment and motor, and also continued physical development because it is possible that he's an early bloomer. I still think that a career like Seth Jones is probably the average of the most likely outcomes, but he certainly has the upside to be more
I don’t know that I’d call him an early bloomer per se. You look at him off the ice and it’s not like he’s jacked or anything. He’s not huge either. He looks like a normal dude off the street.

There’s just occasionally guys that are insanely good immediately with zero effort. I could imagine him as a kid walking into one of those serious practices where all the kids have already been training for years as a casual player, and just start dangling everyone because he could.

But that could explain his random disengagements at times. It’s so easy for him, he’s never needed to focus 100% of the time. But that also means, if you can get him to focus close to 100%, you have a very unique player on your hands that is hard to contain.

$9.5 100% of the time does not go thruva game without some focus liss="dis-engagenent"...but wirse he cannot hot the side of a barn door within shot....Lev at least heys his shotvon net where good things hapoen off that...either beat goalie or leads to rebound chances..

Well his hairline might suggest he's an early bloomer :)

I watched some of the game yesterday and from what I saw, the dude (Levshunov) looked like an absolute BEAST at times. He has all of the tools needed to be a real #1 on a cup team. And yeah. The question is his motor, focus, and engagement and it's true that maybe he's just never really been challenged. God I hope that's the case.

I want my #1 D to be a real SOB out there like Chara, Pronger, or Doughty. Yeah Quinn Hughes or Cale Makar would be nice but I'd take the big intimidator every day of the week.

Also Marcel Marcel is starting to look like the Patrick Maroon of the Icehogs.
