My guess would be that he stays in Russia. To me, he looks like Jordan Harris caliber who is a borderline NHLer.

Maybe the prospect camp, but the rookie camp KHL season, or at least pre-season has started.
The 2026-27 season he will be over.

All of this talk about Demidov buying out his contract, I wonder how much it would cost Konyushkov to buyout his for next year. The Habs need a RD they can play on the bottom pairing with Struble/Xhekaj. Mailloux still isn’t ready and Reinbacher just hasn’t played enough. It would be a nice option if at all possible.

If Konyushkov comes over for 2026-27 do you think he ends up in the AHL for a season? He's 22 now so he would be 23 turning 23 in December of that season

If he doesn't beat someone out for a spot in camp of 2026, yes he goes to the AHL. If he does beat someone out, no.
It's so hard to predict which will occur, because HuGo themselves haven't decided who to keep long term from the many options. Hughes recently said they have a lot of decisions to make about the dcore long term, including whether or not to re-sign Matheson. Will he be re-signedWe're looking for a 2c. Will we sacrifice a good dman to get one? How good will RD Mailloux be by camp 2026? Will RD Reinbacher be healthy? How will Engstrom, Struble, and Xhekaj have progressed? Etc..., etc...
HuGo will gather a lot of information between now and camp 2026 which will determine which D they keep, which in turn will determine Bogdan's competition at camp 2026.
Konyushkov also being sent to VHL to join the VHL affiliate (Torpedo Gorky) for their playoffs.
He's a top KHL dmen. That's like sending Guhle or Hutson down for the AHL playoffs.

I'm not even sure he'll want to sign. He's been pretty vocal about his disappointment with all the attention Demidov got. I could see him resigning and staying in the KHL.

Not sure about that, I've read that he was still one of the best defenceman in the league even through his offence regressed.

Your own link contradicts your statement about him being disappointed with the attention Demidov gets. If anything, it's the opposite.

when I saw him he was on the 2nd pair, the only time he was on the top pairing was when Voynov was injured.
