Officials everywhre are imbeciles. Michigan gets 2 min for head contact when there was none and Penn State gets nothing for running into the goalie's head.

Thorpe notches his 20th of the year as the Giants are absolutely eviscerating Kamloops 8-1 (his was the 8th of the game)

Funnily enough for an 8-goal outburst that's his only point of the night and he's just +1 (though 3 of the 7 non-Thorpe goals were on the PP)

EDIT: Game ended 9-2 Giants. Thorpe had no more points. And really it was almost 9-0 but the Blazers scored in the last 2 seconds of both the 2nd an 3rd period.

Thorpe, Flrorian, and Tuch.

They looked good together in the rookie games against the Leafs.

He's up to 21 with a goal tonight against Spokane (a 5-2 loss on the back of a pair of empty-netters for the Chiefs). I actually thought he got hurt in the 3rd period when he got slashed and fell while driving the net and slammed hard into the boards. He was grimacing and holding his wrist on the way to the bench, then flexing and pressing on his shoulder while sitting on the bench. But he came back a few minutes later and scored his goal.

(WHL's twittter account doesn't appear to have posted the webcast angle so this is all there is)

as an aside that's not really related to you guys since neither is a Habs prospect, but I just needed to say it after watching them live for the first time: damn is the pairing of Andrew Cristall and Berkley Catton scary.

Vecvanags looks like a big miss, but if Thorpe can get 30 goals this year, I'd be very happy with that development.

Dreaming of Thorpe with Florian. Imagine trying to handle those boys on a 4th line.
The returns on Vecvanags haven't been wonderful as of yet, but he's still got quite a bit of runway. Let's see how the next 16 months go.
