Very sloppy game to be expected with lots of guys at NHL camps and first game of the season but Thorpe showed his skating and size for sure. Couple of blind passes to nobody that I hope he irons out of his game but overall a good start for him.

I do think the Giants will keep with the pairing of Thorpe and Cameron Schmidt (speedy little 2025 draft eligible)

I was in fear of a small player mindset in a big powerforward body. At the prospect camp he reassured me, but he does he play in WHL?

I prefer him staying in Liiga, even if his ice time might be low. I think it will help in the long run playing in a superior league.

I say that but it wouldn't surprise me if they send him down to the U20 team.
