Croteau played today. He wasn't the starter, but he was put in midway in the 1st. Not sure if the starter got hurt and Croteau went in or if the coach planned it this way. But chances are the starter got hurt.

Either way, Croteau made 23 saves on 25 SOG for a .920 SV% in a 5-2 win.

Croteau is listed as having played 60:00 mins today. The team he faced, Stonehill, they did pull their goalie in the 2nd period.

He's in a real interesting spot at Dartmouth as they could be an up and coming program again, as former NHLer Reid Cashman has taken over as Head Coach and last year they were a big surprise. The goalie situation is wide open, between the 3 goalies, Croteau is the youngest but also has the most minutes played despite only playing in 6 games as a Freshman (he got injured and then something must have gone wrong since he opted to transfer)

I see. On CollegeHockeyNews, they have Mikey Roberts listed as the starter and have Croteau coming in at 7:56 into the first period.

But it's very likely CHN made a mistake because I just checked on Elite Prosoects, and they have him playing the full 60 also.

Dartmouth Twitter had him listed as the starter.

Just watched Thorpe's latest game for Vancouver while meaning to watch more of Schmidt, and he was pretty good. A couple times I saw him pre-empt plays in the offensive zone and position himself well to receive passes and play a hard-nosed type of off-puck game (a bit Franzen-like in that aspect).

I definitely see some encouraging progression to Thorpe's game, though it is still very early days.

I genuinely feel that if Thorpe goes hard on the power-skating lessons in the next couple seasons he could improve massively as a player, and actually possibly even get an NHL career out of it with us.

For a 5th rounder, he has some tools to work with and a decent foundation to build on. He's the type of diamond in the rough you always hope to find later in the draft. Nothing might come of it in the end, but he's at least worth developing. Any time you can draft a guy that big who's not a complete klutz with the puck, you have to at least think about it.
