This is going to be one of the most enjoyable seasons to follow in recent memory.

  • NHL team can be cheered for without worrying about ruining the pick and hurting our future outlook. We will still have a high draft pick and add another great prospect to the pool. Not to mention the other picks and more we will acquire from selling.
  • We will see Reinbacher, Hutson, Mailloux, and Beck are various times in the NHL. Maybe even Farrell, Tuch, Heineman, Xhekaj, Dobes etc.
  • Demidov in the KHL/VHL
  • Volokhin in the VHL/KHL
  • Eriksson & Kapanen in the SHL
  • Fowler & Hage in the NCAA
  • Miller & Vecvanags in the QMJHL
  • Mesar, Xhekaj, Tuch, Beck, Engstrom first year in Laval.
  • Khanin in VHL/KHL
  • Konyushkov another year in the KHL
  • Koivu in Liiga
  • Rohrer a bigger role inthe NLA
  • Thorpe and Protz in the OHL
  • Sawyer and Merrill in the BCHL

Agree 100%.

I'm excited to see how the 2024 picks do this year.

In 2022, I had no idea who Engstrom was when they picked him. I had no idea who Konyuskov was when they took him in 2023. After one year, I appreciated those selections. Same for Eriksson.

Also to correct your list, even though I know you know, Protz is the only one in the OHL and Thorpe is in the WHL.

I wish Sawyer and Merrill would be going to the NCAA. They might end up there, but according to EP, they're in the BCHL next year and the year after, they go to the NCAA.

Yes, sorry Thorpe in the WHL with Vancouver.

And I think Sawyer in the NCAA this year could have worked but Merrill definitely could use an extra year baking before going to the NCAA. Sawyer ripped AJHL/BCHL but I'm sure the Habs will have him working on his skating mechanics this year while still being able to be productive and keep the offensive confidence sky high.

I haven’t seen any comments on Aatos first summer showcase game yesterday (28th of July). Has anyone heard/seen comments on how he played?

Updated the OP, removing Vecvanags from the CHL section and putting him in BCHL as he will play for the Brooks Bandits instead of Acadie-Bathurst in the Q.

I also removed Pitlick. And added Biondi since I learned yesterday that Habs hold his rights for another year (initially was supposed to expire yesterday, but apparently not).

No points for Konyushkov yesterday.

All we know is Rohrer & Eriksson didn't score, not sure if they got any assists.

No points for Koivu.

Gordin isn't in action today.

Rohrer faces Eriksson today.
See if Volokhin played earlier.
Doubt Koivu will play back to back in pre-season.

Not a great pre-season game for Volokhin, 3 goals on 14 shots, another goalie came in for the 3rd. Summer hockey though, just gotta make sure he makes most of those games to stay in the VHL this year for development.

He was actually pretty lucky on the outlet, going center ice like that is a definite no-no in most situations  It did find a teamate and led to a goal, so props to him I guess.
Thats actually a great play and that shows his IQ. He made his shoulder check just before to see what the situation was and reacted perfectly to it.

Funny that you mention going center ice is a no no. Actually, you want to go in the center if you can. The thing is that at the highest level, they are so compact around the middle. However, if you see an opportunity, you take it.
