2024 25 Phantoms AHL Reading Royals Echl NCAA Jrs Intl Etc

We are only one Lindros, one Desjardins and one Bobrovsky away from contending.
I’m not saying is likely at all. They are going to have to get really lucky at this point. Drysdale was such a poor choice for Cutter. Missing out on Buium was so dumb.

But yea if they can really hit on 3 or so players 6 1sts and 7? 2nds in the next 3 years we can be good.

Actually they were already really lucky when they selected a franchise caliber player with the 7th overall pick. I really believe this off-season will determine Brieres tenure.

You have to choose your own coach and compliment what will be Matveis team for the next (hopefully) 15 years. Danny has, as you mentioned, 7 picks in the first two rounds. Flyers are short of at least one first line C, a top pairing D and a regular NHL starting Goaltender.

Ufff.

Let's say we get lucky again and pick at #3 and select Hagens/ Frondell. So you have 6 more tries for the other two holes (if the potential is ever reached) or you decide to package some of them in a trade. Ersson could be what you look for, Carsen may be what you hope for. Maybe Denver Barkey will do Martin St. Louis things for you in the near future.

What I am trying to say is, you could be right but whatever will be, this summer will be crucial for the cookie monster.

Just realized that I haven't even mentioned the dead cap space we will free up in the next two summer.

Well for MM you have to give them credit for taking a risk and doing their homework. There is luck in every draft, but there are teams that hit more regularly than we do. There is skill there.

I am hopeful we have a goalie coming. I think if we keep all of our picks and maybe even add more we will hit on a few of them. We need to be picking higher to get the stars we need though. I’d like to trade TK for a high end pick and help the tank for next year. I can’t see how we draft a #1 D who is ready to be a #1 D for years still. Then you are likely a big signing or two away from competing.

Since there are so many holes, there shouldn’t be a years long plan in place. Draft the BPA this year and reassess.

What risk was there in taking Michkov? He was touted as being just as talented, maybe slightly under Bedard that year. The "risk" was what that he had a contract in Russia for 3 years? It was overblown fear over nothing. If they would have had to wait they would still be getting a super talented player. The pick was a gimme and it was a miracle they actually made it. They were presented the same scenario a year later with Buium and massively punted.

*the very next pick

Their entire first 2 round strategy is galaxy braining since Michkov.
Yep, Michkov, Perrealt, Buium would be much better than MM, Bonk and Jett + Gill. I was mad about trading Edm's pick at 31 last year, when there were good players available, now I'm hoping for the Oilers to drop into the top wild card spot and get beat out early.

Berglund over Stiga too. They low ceiling, big boy’d it at every pick because they thought one of the least skilled organizations was all set in skill. The horror of having too many skilled 5’10-6’ players and having to trade one for a premium in the future. It’s not like Stankoven at 5’7 didn’t net Rantanen.

The risk was that he wouldn't come over.

Except for some strange reason he specifically wanted to play for them and even met with them again to tell them that. So no, it was not the same risk for every team. And this one needed to be reassured because they weren't willing to believe him yet.

Yea he was under contract for years in a different country. As we have seen you can’t take a 0 on a top pick so teams were afraid and I get it. The flyers usually go for a different type of player so you have to give them credit here.

Buium and trading Cutter was a huge mistake. The three of them would be a hell of a good start.

Think it was because his late father liked the Flyers. I REALLY wanted Demidov. It can still happen, but I was thinking we could get all the risky Russians and Belarusians here.

Meanwhile in the Dub, Portland - Prince George looking like a feisty series. Philly 5th round D Carter Sotheran just blew a nice shot past Ravensbergen, also has an assist on an earlier goal.

Edit: and he just scored another one on the PP, a few minutes later!

Is Alex Bump expected to play for the Phantoms today? Can't hurt to have another promising LW besides Grebyonkin.

I heard NHL teams actually need LW'ers too.

The Flyers have like 8.525.864 natural RW'er on their roster.

Ciernik coming in too, albeit he plays both wings like basically every Euro aha.

Any opinion on a couple local college free agents Vinny Borgesi (Northeastern) and Andrew Centrella ( Providence). Micah Berger (Yale).

If Kaplan has another pedestrian year do you see the Flyers walking away from him?
