I am doing some QMJHL "scouting" tonight. Blainville-Boisbriand Armada against Shawinigan Cataractes. No one of note for the next drafts, except for a friend's son on the Cataractes.

I think Avon was more at LW than center last season.
Gardner probably at center.
 
Feel asleep during the game, Phantoms struggled to start, then seemed to dominate the rest of the game. Woke up for the shootout.

Avon had a beautiful goal in the shootout, he's the player I'm most interested in this season, UDFA after hardly playing his D-1 and losing his D-0 to Covid.

So he's only had 2 full CHL seasons and 1 AHL season.
July B-day so he's 21 in his second AHL season.

174 lbs when drafted, now listed at 6'1 201 on the TC roster.
That's good size for a player known for speed:

Whether he's a 4th line forechecker or can play higher will probably be evident by the end of the season, depends on him polishing his offensive skill package.

Didn't impress me in pre-season, probably explains why he was a 7th rd pick.
Nothing I saw suggested NHL player, given he's already 23.

Not a good sign when you're benched for Gardner (28) and Gaucher.
 
Cole Knuble is off to a hot start at Notre Dame, 3g 4-2 6 +5 after a strong finish in his freshman season. Not huge, listed at 5'11 185 by EP (not at combine), though he's probably added some muscle.

Supposedly a smart, all around player who was held back by his skating.
So if anyone catches a ND game, check out whether his skating has improved.
