Vanecek was acquired for Kahkonen, but that was just a contract swap. Vanecek could have been had for free.

Why the alternate way to say the players were traded for each other?
If vanacek yields anything on a trade out that goes on the ledger.

Sharks could have had their cake and eaten it too. Meaning they could have traded Middleton for a higher pick and then acquired Vanecek for free.
We are forgetting the value Tanko had in securing our top pick last season and 4th overall the year before.

If I remember correctly Vanecek had a lot more value back when Middleton was traded. He started 42 games with winning record for Washington. He was projected as a starter, so it wouldn't have been free.

He’s 20 years old and has been playing in the 2nd best pro league in the world for 4 years. He shouldn’t need a development day.
Also nobody on the Flyers has called it a development day or referred to any sort of development plan for Michkov like the Ducks announced for Carlsson and Sharks for Celebrini/Smith. He’s a healthy scratch.

Nope it’s a fact that the Flyers have never announced Michkov is on a development plan. But if you have inside information maybe you should do your job as a mod and lock the “Matvei Michkov is a healthy scratch tonight” main board thread for inaccuracy.
You don’t have inside information either. Tortorella said it’s part of the process. You take that to mean he’s garbage and him being scratched is a big deal. Other people take it at face value as being part of the Flyers’ process. For someone whose only defense is an appeal to authority you conveniently ignore them when they don’t fit your narrative.

Yeah it's part of the process alright, part of the process of Michkov proving the Sharks were right to pick Will Smith over him.
