2024/25 Oilers Prospect Thread

2023 6th round pick Nathaniel Day looked very sharp in his pro debut for the Komets tonight, posting a 25 save, 7-0 shutout win.

Johnson with another 2-3 OTL today. 932 sv% on 44 shots. BIK Karlskoga are on the brink of elimination.
On the subject of Jonsson. There was a rumour that he was about to sign with Färjestad in the SHL next season but it hadn't been announced because he was in talks with the Oilers about coming over, well Färjestad just signed Emil Larmi and Melker Thelin as their goalies for next year so maybe that means Jonsson is indeed coming over.

Yeah, that would be ideal I think. Probably to be announced after their season is over. Hopefully they can beat AIK.

His current team has a chance to get into the SHL or they still were in contention last week

Samuel Jonsson got eliminated in ALLS. He played well just the team in front of him was no help offensively. Came back from injury and in 5 games put up a .913 SV% and GAA of 2.15. Hopefully he comes over and plays for Bakersfield next year.

Another shutout for Day (well kinda :))

Ungar left the game in the 2nd intermission with 24 saves on 24 shots. Day came in and stopped 9 of 9 to cap off the unofficial tandem shutout.

This would be excellent news. I know some think he's NHL ready and could be a nice cheap addition next year. This plus the signing of Jonsson, and the speculated signing of Quinn Hutson. The prospect pool is looking a lot more interesting than it was a few weeks ago before the Carfagna, Samanski and Tomasek signing. Hopefully they can find a diamond or two out of this group.

Goal and assist for Nicholl so far.

I would not be surprised if he puts up close to 100 points next year in a bigger role in London. Nice looking wrist shot there.

Who has been speculating that he's signing with us?

Been announced by multiple sources now. Friedman confirmed it tonight.

Thanks for the link confirming this from a verified, trusted source. Interesting signing, produced decently well in his final season. Not expecting much from any of the new signings, to be honest -- there's a reason they were all passed over. But hoping for an extremely rare win here, this prospect pool is abysmal and they could really use an up arrow and injection of youthful skill in short order, on the NHL roster. Wonder if the kid is eligible for the playoffs or not, given the stuffed infirmary here.
