Sam O'Reilly has a goal and an assist. Goal looks real familiar to another behind the net pass Barkley fed O'Reilly a few games ago. O'Reilly's assist from a very nice stretch feed from draft eligible Brzustewicz.

William Nicholl collected a secondary assist, no video of the touch.

Connor Clattenburg nets his 13th of the season, it goes down as a PP marker.

Nathan Day made 10 saves for the win.

I thought you made a typo here so I had to double check it. Turns out they’ve lowered it, he made 9 saves on 10 shots in the entire game, absolutely wild for a major junior team to get that few in a game. Ironically enough it was against the team usually coached by the most unpopular man in Canada at this moment, Dave Cameron’s Ottawa 67s.

And Stonehouse is out, so he wasn't apart of that disaster.

Sounds like the kind of high octane system Cameron would institute yeah.

Connor Clattenburg recorded an assist before, as best as I can tell, reading Porter Matrone things Dave Cameron had to say about him and then beating someone up and getting ejected with a game misconduct in the 1st period?

This kid goes to the rough areas with reckless abandon and just seems like the kind of guy that will carve out a depth NHL role. I would've loved unleashing him in his prime on that d-bag Montour tonight.

Found why Clattenburg got the boot. Draft eligible Jimmy Lombardi gets laid out and Clattenburg took exception. Terrible time to cut away but here is the video. Clattenburg avoided suspension and is in the lineup today.

It didn't look like he was able to unload much on the other guy since the refs got involved quickly.

Anyone think Joel Maatta is going to get a contract? Or will he pack his bags back to Finland?

I think he will.

Beyond just the defensive aptitude, Maatta has the size, strength, and willingness to use them to succeed as a grinding 4th line centre.

Quality defence isn't enough, if you're a player with limited offence then you best be...

1) Willing to make life hard for opposing defences (My main critique of someone like Grubbe)
2) Ideally have the size to make it matter (My main critique of Wakely -- Sam Carrick is a good example of this. I love the hustle, but at 6'0 and 200lb you're not intimidating anyone. It's also why Vinny is more effective than someone like Phil Kemp.
