It was a 6-2 win with the shots at 31-11.

Jonsson's team is probably the best defensive team in that league.
Heh, that's not too great a showing actually for only 11 shots. Almost Skinner-esque  Good season stats, so obviously a one-off. I know the offense isn't as high in the Swedish leagues, but 11 shots allowed is impressive.

Pretty disappointed in how O'Reilly's season has progressed, a quarter of the way through. Perhaps it's usage or deployment but I thought he was taking on 1st or 2nd line minutes with the best players? Not great production as other prognosticators were predicting.

9th in scoring on his own team and at 0.75 points/game. Hopefully he picks it up soon.

San Jose returned Kasper Halttunen back to London for some reason, so O'Reilly had a different role tonight.

Easton Cown shifted over to #1C and O'Reilly played on Nicholl's wing on the third line.
Thanks for the update, I know you're one of the few here who actually gets to catch OHL games. Don't want to read too much into it but does it indicate some disappointment from the coaching staff in his game too? Nicholl has been excellent considering his draft pedigree.

Connor Clattenburg crashed the net for this PPG, stood up as the GWG as Nathan Day made 27 saves for the 2-1 Firebirds win.

---

Shane Lachance playing with Copponi tonight. This goal sends the game to extra frames.

---

Beau Akey collected two assists, including this one on the game winner. Can't find video of his secondary assist.

Dalyn Wakely got a secondary assist on the PP. It was a very nothing assist, not gonna link the video.

3rd line RW when we drafted him to be a center? Ouch.

He lined up at LW this afternoon.

He accounts for a quarter of the Knights total face-off attempts and his 55% win rate leads the team. The only person who's taken more face-offs than O'Reilly is unfortunately current 2nd line center Jacob Julian.

William Nicholl: 144 attempts (12% of Knights total, 4th most) for 47.2% in the dot.

Odd that they had him only take 6 faceoffs compared to Nicholl's 10 albeit Nicholl was much better on the draw today. Maybe O'Reilly is nursing an injury?

I think it's just a numbers game. Halttunen is way too good for the OHL, so him going back is a little strange and makes it a no-brainer to reunite the Barkey-Cowan-Halttunen line that destroyed the playoffs and Memorial Cup last year.

They've got Nicholl's line listed as the third line, but really I'd say that's the second line, so it's a jump down from #1C to second line wing. I think he'll actually get a better chance at offense on the second line because he'll be deferring to Dickinson less there.

I'd guess most of O'Reilly's were on the PK. He's still their #1 PKer.

He's been hitting the scoresheet lots lately after a quite first handful of games. He seems to be tracking well if he can stay healthy and keep progressing.
Looks like he'll show well if he can stay healthy. That, of course, is the big question.
