Which means nothing. Most likely Bregman has not bit on their offer buts its still on the table if he wants it, but they will plan to move forward without him for the time being. Nothing burger of a statement.

Yeah, an offer might be on the table but if you have to twist someone's arm to take $156 mil, you probably dont want that sort of "I settled" attitude in your locker room. Bye Felicia!

If I ask a girl out and she says call me on Friday I'm waiting to see if there is a better offer. If I dont tell her to F-Off on the spot, I'm required to turn in my man card, stop attending all man related activities, tuck my nuts between my legs and never speak to another woman again. Atkins is over and over again allowing the girl to Friend Zone him and then he gladly pay's for dinner... Atkins is such a cuck.

Well we still have Clement and Schneider (played a little 3b in 2023), not everyday players but serviceable.
Yeah, I don't think 3B is enough of a concern that we should be too worried about missing out on Moncada. He offers some cheap upside, but given what he's done the last few years, there's a very good chance he's hurt half the season and provides bench-level production the other half.

The Jays have a few solid options at 3B (Clement, maybe a bit of Barger/Schneider/Wagner, maybe Orelvis later in the year). What they need more is one very good bat, regardless of position.

I like Ryan McMahon as a trade option, provided the Rockies have any interest in selling. He’s a great defender and solid bat locked up for a few more years on a reasonable contract.

I don’t think that’s a legit source. :/
I was also thinking about McMahon. He’s a clear upgrade at 3B.

I wonder if they would have interest in a package around Orelvis Martinez and some prospects. Maybe add Clement (who I like) but he could be a useful piece in a trade.

I wasn't really happy with the revolving door at 3B since Chapman left in free agency. Nobody was a particular stand out, nobody ever played well enough to claim the position as theirs especially after IKF was traded.

I don't see how McMahon is any better than Clement. His traditional stats look good, but they're entirely Colorado-driven: career .814 OPS at home, .673 away. He's never had a wRC+ above 100. Obviously the track record isn't there, but Clement was just as good last year as any season McMahon has ever had.

McMahon gets $44 million for three years.
Clement get arbitration rates for the next four years starting at under $2 million this year.

I wouldn't even consider a Clement for McMahon trade.

Reality is going to hit him hard come May or June. Lol.

They don't call him Mad Max for nothin'.
McMahon is kinda trash. He had a hot start to last season but then fell off a cliff, especially in the 2nd half. The power isn't good enough to negate some of the worst contact numbers in the league.

Maybe a change of scenery could help, but I'm not willing to take that gamble.
Yes but have you considered he absolutely rakes in MLB The Show?

In all seriousness McMahon is that classic player where everyone gasses him up because he'll have one good stretch like you said. which makes you think he finally unlocked his potential, only for it to be a mirage and for him to go back to being mid. He's Mikael Boedker with a baseball bat rather than a hockey stick.

Nothing about these numbers scream good and i'm kinda flabbergasted he still gets hyped up.

Read an article today we should go after Luis Arraez. Defense is suspect at 3rd but damn he's an on base machine. Padres looking to possibly deal him before he walks next season wonder the cost? He would definitely set the table at top of the order for us.
