The problem for me is that Shatkins are just behaving completely illogically. You can point to other GMs dealing away prospects that turn into studs years later and call that a bad move in retrospect - but at the time those deals are made it's usually a logical gamble where the prospects just end up developing better than the GM would have assumed.
But Shatkins are consistently, repeatedly making moves that are immediately illogical. There's no judgement passed using hindsight here - these are just obviously and irrevokably dumb moves that can only be made by dumb people.
