I don’t want to believe as I don’t want to be hurt again…but this FO is the antithesis of an aggressive group. Spending over $12M on Myles Straw to get that extra IFA $ is not the type of move they make without having a STRONG indication he’s coming.
He's as bad as it gets at the plate but watch his stance/swing, it is correctable, it's not that he cant identify a pitch, its that his timing, stance and his approach are piss poor. Watch his front foot bail every time, takes away the outside half of the plate. All correctable with the right hitting coach/hitting coach team. Now with that said ... the Jays and coaches correcting hitting have not been synonymous over the last few years.

Fair to say Straw and Varsho have a similar skillset? Varsho being the better fielder?

Miles Straw has the highest fielding percentage in MLB history.

another thing I could see happening is he choose Dodgers but waiting for them to make trades to get more international money
He could announce he is signing with the Dodgers now and they have until January 23rd to acquire IFA money.

I also wonder if the Jays got the IFA money as a hedge. If they sign Sasaki, great, they have the money. If not and he goes to the Dodgers and they need IFA money, you can offer it to the Dodgers for something you like.

I think whats happening is, we are watching a process that normally unfolds behind closed doors and because the signs point to good news for the Jays people will live and die by the rumours leaking out from no one in the know until it gets done.
