Teo back to the Dodgers per Passan.

3 years $66M with deferrals (of course).

That’s leaves Santander, Alonso, and Bregman as legit bats available.

The deferrals are a pain in the ass. If the Dodgers sign Sasaki they probably have a better team than last year and they won the WS.

EDIT: Even if they don't they do. This upcoming season I likely won't be watching much baseball.

Basically down to if we don't sign Santander our off season is completely cooked. Not a great feeling lol
Sort of agree, although Alonso or Bregman (seems unlikely) could have a similar impact.

We absolutely need one of those 3, and perhaps even a trade for another bat.

Not that surprised, but the Dodgers and their deferrals are getting out of hand and really annoying, at some point MLB had to step in and put a stop of this nonsense, you can't have teams just continuing to defer large salary payments.

It’s one of those things like NHL teams playing in no tax states. It won’t be fixed cause the league doesn’t want it fixed.
The MLB loves that their big market teams can out spend the other teams and are more likely to have success.
Just like Betman loves that their small market NHL teams in non traditional markets have an advantage created by the tax system.

What do you do when players only interest in you is to leverage it for a bigger contract to play for anybody but you? lol
I've said this before but the big problem with this offseason is the uncertainty of the Jays future. They could be rebuilding next offseason. In previous offseasons, they did pretty well signing players.

Bo and Vlad not being locked up is 100% why no one is signing here. Losing Gausman, Bassett, Bo and Vlad in one off season and Berrios a year away from an opt out. Toronto is as unappealing a destination as one can imagine. We’ll sign a few guys to one year deals and that’ll be it

Can we talk about how much money all this deferred money has cost the MLB. The dodgers are costing the league what 70 to 100 million in luxury taxes doing this? They have to step in. This is an embarrassment to the league at this point. Why other owners aren’t freaking out about it is beyond me

It’s baffling to me that Shatkins have fumbled the great situation they mostly inherited this badly and are still here to be the ones to try to fix it.
Oh and the home grown Canadian GM we pushed out the door to get this group has won a World Series since he left.

They didn't really inherit a great situation. The farm system stunk and it was an aging core.
