I think he's not expected to pitch much this season either right?wtf Manoah 2.2M for what? he hasnt pitched worth a damn for 2 past seasons.

That's just how the arbitration system works. Players get more money each year just by virtue of spending time on the major league roster.wtf Manoah 2.2M for what? he hasnt pitched worth a damn for 2 past seasons.
Pat Gillick absolutely. Multiple playoff appearances, smart trades, signing, rule 5 claims, prospect development. And most importantly 2 World Series."Grow from with in" - most condescending statement by a Blue Jay GM ever - with a bottom quartile farm system he tells fans - we are going to grow from with in.
Remember Pat Gillick and Gord Ash - those were the days when competency was part of the calculus for a job as a GM with the Jays?
What, you don't remember the Jays glory years from 1995-2001?Pat Gillick absolutely. Multiple playoff appearances, smart trades, signing, rule 5 claims, prospect development. And most importantly 2 World Series.
A HoF GM without a doubt.
But Gord Ash???
What the hell did he ever do here but turn a perennial contender into a joke. Ownership gets a giant portion of the blame for that period for being unwilling to spend but he belongs no where in a list with Pat Gillick.
Yeah when I think of the GM who took over the then reigning WS champs and missed the playoffs every year. Never finishing higher than 3rd in the division, competency is definitely the first word that comes to mind. What, you don't remember the Jays glory years from 1995-2001?

Ash also traded Clemens for Wells and then Wells for Sirotka. And Olerud for Person. And Green for Mondesi. And Young for Loaiza. Atkins should have been fired at least a year ago, but I think those Ash moves are all worse than any moves Atkins has made.He did draft Doc and Vernon Wells, and was able to sign Clemens as a free agent. And that '98 team would have made the playoffs under today's rules and could have done some damage behind Clemens. I'd take Ash over Atkins.
I don't buy for a second that there's any chance of this happening, but it's not like it's a move they can just make happen. He's not signing until at least Jan 15.Oh f*** off. Either shit or get off the pot already.

Even though the Jays would have made the playoffs under this format in '98, they've won more games than that three times under this management (and that doesn't count 2016).
He literally took over a team that was the most recent WS winner and had just gone through a decade of contention and lead them to one of our darkest eras.He did draft Doc and Vernon Wells, and was able to sign Clemens as a free agent. Last time I heard August '25.I think he's not expected to pitch much this season either right?
What?Low ball offer not good
Just for this coming season. At least for now.how many years on the Vladdy deal?
