That was a fun game, I thought it was a lot closer than what a 6-2 scoreline said. I still thought Boston had superior offensive weapons, but dang, I watched a lot of different teams this year, but nobody came close to the amount of impressiveness that Western Michigan displayed. They are the definition of a "complete team," and never really showed any outstanding weaknesses. It goes to show that defence still wins championships on top of that.

Yegorov really blew it if you'd ask me, he looked VERY uncomfortable out there, where 90% of those goals were saveable. Seems the pressure got to him, but he's still an outstanding prospect. Just gotta take this as a learning lesson into next season and build on it.

Not at all, you're down 2 goals with 8 minutes remaining. The probability is low of getting a chance as good as that, you gotta take the risk.

W Michigan is an accumulation of 25 year olds who are not likely making the NHL. They might make a career in Europe or the AHL. There should be an age limit for NCAA hockey players. Costco is a reference to Xhekaj who went from Costco to the NHL.

When Quinipiac won it in 23 over Minnesota they also had a very veteran team. Average age was almost 22 yo if I recall correctly.

WMU weighted average age is 22.245 this season. They were 39th oldest team out of 64 in NCAA D1.

Western Michigan were very impressive. Well deserved National Champions. The way they play they force you into making quicker decisions with the puck then you want to. BU looked uncomfortable all night long.
