Clippers-Golden State this afternoon will pretty much shape up the course of the playoffs in the Western Conference.

I hate the concept of divisions for anything other than scheduling, in all sports. Especially in 2025.
Just give me the best teams sorted by record. It's one of the few things the NBA actually does right compared to other leagues. Don't get me started on the NHL format. (and 2 Florida teams in a division with 3 Canadian and 3 other very northern teams)

18 FTs for butler alone and GS still barely beat memphis with a hobbled morant. don't see them beating the rockets and their athleticism
How many bad calls against the Warriors at the end of that game by the refs? The ridiculous foul on Looney against Edey and Pods's clean block that was called a foul happened in the last 60 seconds alone! That is the danger with these one-off games, garbage refereeing can lose you a game.

I hate the playins. You spend the whole season battling for7th/8th and a team that doesn't even deserve it gets a chance to knock you off. You don't even get to rest and have to play 1-2 more games while the others teams get 6 days off and have already been coasting for a week.

If you must do it (you musn't), take the 7 seed out of it completely. Have the winner of 9/10 just play 8. Or take 10 out of it too and just do 8 vs. 9.

I agree, the playins are dumb. If you play 82 games and you finish 8th, why can't we just leave it at that? Dumb, dumb, dumb. Why do you need to give the 9th and 10th seeds a chance? And it's not like teams are racing to get into the playin. Let's say in the east, Toronto finished 11th but were they playing to get the 10th seed? no, they were tanking. As were teams behind them. None of those teams wanted the playin. Even a team like Chicago probably would rather finish lower in the standings too.
