Laval Rocket: 2024-25 Laval Rocket Thread

Was not expecting Protz to be brought in the middle of the playoffs, even on an ATO.

But I like it. Even if he won't see any action unless guys get hurt, it will be good to have him around the pro ranks to practice and pick up on how guys prepare.
They’ve already amassed quite a few players for next season (possibly). All those college guys, Thorpe, Protz, Kapanen. I liked what I saw from Dineen too.

I would guess it's similar to Thorpe, they see some potential in him and they want to let Adam Nicolas and his staff start working with him early. Simple as that. It's good that they're being proactive IMO.

The difference is that Thorpe has the option to play in the AHL next year, while Protz has to go back to the OHL.

If Thorpe goes back to the WHL, it's as an overager.

AHL rules are you are only allowed to travel once so you have to make the choice if you want the first 3 games or last 3 games at home.
That can't be the choice. No one would pick first two on the road.

I bet the choice is first two on the road and get home ice advantage for game 5 OR first two at home, then give the lower-ranked team the home ice advantage in game 5.

It's nuts.
