Laval Rocket: 2024-25 Laval Rocket Thread

Primeau and Dobes haven't been sent down yet, so maybe Fowler will start Game 2.

Maybe they want Dobes and Primeau to be there for the year end stuff tomorrow.

Cleveland vs Laval 3-1 for Laval

1st period...neither M or R start the game. 2 minutes in, LX is starting a scrum, 3 minutes Rein is in a scrum, P for xchk. First time I see that aggresion by R. M on 1st PP, R on 2nd PP. Rockets are hiting anything that's breathing. Rein is not showing any knee problem. Fowler is a human sponge. PP, M picks open lane and as usual, shot gets through.

WAY too many sub commercials at 3 am in the morning cause me a pizza pocket attack...

2nd...M on 1st PK, plays full 2 minute kill. M 1st PP. Rein 2nd PP plays on wall and Engstrom on point. M on PK again for 2 minutes. R 2nd P for hooking. M on PK. GA but no fault on M. M on PP, assist on GF.

3rd....solid, aggressive game by M and R.

What's with the 2 minute penalty kills?Primer for Savards job?

I'd keep Primeau and Dobes in the NHL if possible. One of the two will probably be traded this summer anyway. This is good exp for Fowler and he is ready.

Why would sending them down now have any impact on that?

Right now, TR's starting goalie is in Laval. Would be good to send him back down.

Game 2...Cleveland vs Rockets

1st...Lindstrome starts period like last time. Quick goal off faceoff. M slightly hurt in scrum. M doing his bully thing by taking extra post whistle shots. M penalty for obstruction...more like a face shot. Other then usual suspects, not as much hitting. R nice sidestep to find open lane. Fowler is human sponge.

Solid play by M and R

2nd..M on 1st PP. R on 2nd PP. Game getting chippy. M hard board work. R takes board hit on knee, bad clearing. LX is in normal nasty mode gets roughing penalty. M 1st PK. Lindstrome 2nd PK. M speared, no call. M 1st PP. R 2nd PP. Eng on point, R on left wall. Fowler speared, LX immediate retaliation. LX very aggressive PK.

Another solid period. If there is a system, it's pretty loose. On the PK where it should be strictly zone, there is still m/m chasing.

3rd...LX, Davidson, M on the ice, innevitable scrum. M goes on offensive journey, gets covered. Big difference from 3 months ago. Very chippy.

R is not showing any knee problems and getting more physical. M is playing error free and nasty. LX, Davidson and M is going to come with barrels of headache pills for SMarty.

From Vincent's mouth, the plan is to keep using Fowler for now. Sending down Primeau would allow to send Cavallin back to TR which would help them greatly.
Unless they get some crazy offer for Fowler/Dobes/Monty, Primeau future is pretty much over in Montreal.

And just like that Fowler got his 1st playoff shutout at his second game. No way Primeau will take his spot now
Human sponge...

I'm not paying that much attention to him but i noticed majority of shots his way just get smothered.

The centers better do a lot of faceoff practices with him in net.

I really like seeing Mailloux bring back some of the POS attributes he had with the Knights. He can get under people's skin real easy, and when he's playing with that edge he becomes all the more effective IMO. He was a bit too shy with the big team and that hurt him.
