Laval Rocket: 2024-25 Laval Rocket Thread

What is going on with Rocket with the recent signings ? Yesterday, Rocket has signed Egor Goriunov. In the last few weeks, Rocket has signed like 3-4 other players. Are there a lot of injuries now ? Or the other players have significantly underperformed ?

Guriunov is signed for next year.

The guys they signed a few weeks ago were college players (whether NCAA or USports) they signed on a PTO/ATO. It's more about adding some depth across the line-up.

There won’t be the influx of drafted rookies next season that there was this year. Plus, it shows that they’re committed to at least try and build a competitive team down there. Better to try and get a jump on players asap just in case they turn out.

And if this year is any indication, they will sign guys to AHL deal and send them to the ECHL.

Looks like Fowler will be the starter with Primeau now the backup in Montreal. Maybe he can pull off a Carey Price

The rule is that each team has to be guaranteed at least one home game and they can't travel more than once. Rocket wanted to play at home should the series go down to the wire, so they elected to start away and finish at home.
The latter rule is because they are too cheap to pay for additional travel.

Mesar scratched…in the AHL. Every time I hear about this guy, it’s bad news. Time to package him in a trade for something useful and forget about him. Terrible pick.
