No, let's not drag Lefebvre from the dumpster.Who are those real good players, because lots of posters here have been blasting the vets all year?
I said he's better than Houle, not that he's a great coach. You can go back from the day he was hired to now and I don't think I've ever been in awe of him and been mostly critical/skeptical. However, he's getting the job done, something very few coaches have been doing for the farm team since Guy Boucher.
The way you talk about him, you'd think he was worse than Sylvain Lefebvre.
I've said repeatedly and criticize him on using 50s style coaching on Mailloux. I can only comment on M because I focused on him. I don't care about the game, I care about the player making it with the Habs. Now include Reinbacher on that list.
It started way back when I didn't see M on the PP even though he is the best offensive defenseman we have in the AHL. Then the next game he was on but if he made a mistake, off he went. By game 3-4 it was apparent M was getting carrot and stick treatment. I abhorre that management style and my opinion is based as a pro manager/owner, which was my profession for about 50 years...with massively more people then a hockey team.
Now all of a sudden M is on the 1st PP and PK. M still makes his ill timed pinches and lazy plays, but Vincent is treating him differently. Why? Only Vincent and maybe Hughes know for sure.
That's why I criticize Vincent...and throw in an extra jab here and there.
EDIT...Boulle, Pinard and a few others are good to very good players but because of size and/or age, they won't make it in the.NHL. Boulle has a Beck level motor and skill, but at 27 and his size, he's an AHL lifer.
