Laval Rocket: 2024-25 Laval Rocket Thread

Express is half way between highlites and full game. It's hard to keep track of players through the usual several line changes per period.

1st period...R is first pair, M second pair. M on both PK. This is huge since earlier in the year there was no PK for him. LX (Little X) is a damn menace. Always ready to fight.

2nd period...M is finally on the first PP and using his canon. R also on 2nd PP pinches DEEP and makes a great pass for a goal. His first assist. M on first PP and distributing. Perfect pass from top of circle then 2 relays to the net. 3-0 Davidson-LX are pit bulling the net. Davidson picks up a goal. M again on 1st PK.

3rd...R is playing with Engstrom. He's too often on the left side and it looks intentional. Who is doing this? The players decided or the coach?

Barry-Bullet has a great motor but he's undersized and 27. Too bad because he's an older Beck.

Despite lots of big guys, there is hardly any bone crushers. Zero to be exact.

I thought M was toast when R, the shiney new toy arrived but I'm shocked that Vincent has flipped the switch and actually using M on the 1st PK AND 1st PP. What changed? Hughes orders? Up until R arrived, my constant complaint and me calling Vincent an idiot was that he kept M from both of those roles. Weird...

M needs more speed. He's losing foot races here and there but I've seen it too often in 8-9 games to ignore it or assume the forward was McD light. I don't know about R since I only got a 3 game sample on him.

Express is better then nothing but doesn't allow tracking from shift to shift. They drop you in the middle of a PK and you don't know if the player was there 5 seconds or 2 minutes. Oh well...

.

EDIT....blame my wife for "Barry-Bullet". She watched a game for a few minutes, turned to me and asked...who is this Barry Bullet? It's a great name".

Hopefully the Habs can land some help for Laval..

Next weekend is a back-to-back with Rochester.

Maybe some additional depth, but I think the core is set if most guys can come back by the playoffs.

Offensively, I think they are fine with the guys currently healthy (assuming Beck goes back down). If an experienced non-vet (so 23-26 but under 260 games) can be thrown in a trade sure, but wouldn't pay worthwhile assets for one.

Would definitely target some toughness if Arseneau/Tuch are uncertain for the POs (and probably would anyway). Again, no real assets should be given.

I think the D is fine as long as one of Hoefenmeyer/Hayes/Lindstrom comes back.

Goalie is fine with Hughes/Primeau/Cavallin and Dobes might go back down too.

Would definitely target CHL/NCAA guys for ATOs for additional depth too.

For the regular season, they have a 15 points PO cushion with 20 games left, not stressed at all. Just get healthy.

If they really want to give a boost to Laval, Heineman is still waiver exempt and could go help them for the POs if he wants to and is healthy. Technically, Hutson could too but I really don't see that happening.

Will be interesting to see who they actually paper transfer on deadline day to make them available to Laval if the Habs season ends early.

Last night i had a weird time with the spellchecker. I copied my post above from elsewhere and when i posted it here, it extended the M abbreviation to Mississauga.

Of course i didn't catch it and the post read like i did 3 lines of coke before posting.

I think my tablet or the site hates me....

As for Laval playoff run, Heinamen and Beck are a shoe in, but Hutson is an absolute no go. The kid is already playing 25 minutes a night, give him a rest. Maybe Struble if he's still waiver exempt.

Struble is not waiver exempt. Xhjekaj is waiver-exempt but I doubt he is sent down.

I'd be shocked if Heineman were loaned to Laval.

I can see Beck returning there, and also ABB, RHP, Gignac, Roy, Mailloux or Davidson even if they are brought up for a while.
