Laval Rocket: 2024-25 Laval Rocket Thread

He was outstanding in the 3rd period where only one team was on the ice. That had a Toronto comeback written all over it and he stopped everything. That was impressive to watch.
What will Hughes do with him ? Call him back and give him some more games at NHL level ? Keep him down in Laval for the remaining of the season ? Trade him soon ? Is he just an AHL level goalie or can he re-gain some confidence to be at least a solid #2 goalie at NHL level ? His story looks very much like Charlie Lindgren’s one.

If he were called up, they’d have to send Dobes down for sure. This is the first dominant year (so far) for Laval and they need a solid starter going into the playoffs. Trading Primeau would be an extremely bad idea at this juncture if Dobes stays up. I think Primeau is a RFA after this year? I highly doubt he wants to stick around. I don’t see him with the Habs as a back up and I’m sure he doesn’t want to back up Fowler next year. Most likely they let him walk.

Hughes I believe knows that Dobes has to be the go to goalie for Laval going into the playoffs so I expect Primeau back up and Dobes Sent down. Habs need Primeau for depth to finish the season so I doubt he is traded.

I heard an interview clip with Primeau on RDS. He said that his confidence level was the same before and after having been sent down to Laval. It was never a problem. And he is praising the players in front of him and the Laval's system…. It’s kind of a slap in the face for his teamates in MTL and MSL in particular.

I can tell you this if Demidov comes over and plays for the Rocket in the spring…..we’re gonna need a bigger barn!
His contract is over May 31st in the KHL.

Absolutely sucks that it's the prospect that is out the longest among the three. Couldn't he be the one out for 2 weeks and one of the other 2 out for 2 months?

Yeah, his rookie season ended up being mostly lost :( Davidson had an injury plagued first year too and ended up rebounding nicely this season, here's hoping it's going to be the same for Tuch !

I assume that both the Habs and his KHL team would stand in the way of Demidov playing in Laval's playoffs.

So it would be better to sit at home rather than take in the NA playoff playstyle?

I feel like even just practicing with the team would be beneficial.

He would either be finishing getting his affairs in order in Russia, getting his Canadian working Visa and establishing a place to stay in Montreal at the time OR if that's all done and ready to go, he'd be working on ice sessions with Adam Nicholas etc.

Lane Hutson wasn't going to Laval for the play-offs if they made it last year, either, even if he was eligible.
