Panthers fan here, Montour was one of my favourite players on the team, so just wondering how he's been for you guys so far since I don't see much discussion about it.

Hot and cold but a great addition. We’d be worse without him for sure.

Campbell needs to figure out how to fix the PP. We are ranked 30 out of 32 teams in the league. It has been dismal and we need all the help we can with scoring.

It's odd because even the eye test from some old duffer can tell it's terrible, and has been pretty much all season. So what are Campbell, Bylsma, and that video analytics department looking at?

So this is not just related to the PP but is something ECH has said multiple times. The team does many good things in practice, which they do not do during the game. Net presence is one. The focus is quite a bit on point shots with net-front presence, but in most games, the point shots are just unscreened shots, easy pickings for the goalie.

Am thinking we brought back the wrong depth forward as well, Ryan Donato has been kinda tearing it up.

This. With the improvement this season, he certainly could be. But too early to tell.

I know it's wishful thinking but move Gourde now. See if someone wants to take on Tanev between now and the TDL. Also, move Borgen at the TDL.

During the off-season, buyout Gru. Consider trading at least one of Burakovsky or Schwartz. I would also be open to trading Tolvanen if the right offer comes along.

I feel like this locker room is a mess and needs a reset. There is way too much mediocrity on the roster, including the coaching. Bylsma has not done a great job either, but I don't see him getting fired unless Francis is fired or ownership forces him to.

Man, I don't know. I think what hurts the most is being 100% confident that Francis won't do a damn thing. Having been more active on social media what with BlueSky taking off lately, it's crazy how many people seem to be into this team exactly for the whole "giant marketing experiment" angle I've been complaining about lately.

Its making me start to wonder if I'm the one who is wrong here, am I trying to get blood from a stone expecting this front office and ownership group to actually give a shit about fielding a serious hockey team?

Agreed on all counts. There’s no fire, no response to a teammate being gooned, and no observable hatred of losing.
This season is already lost, so be bold, even if it backfires. Doing nothing has definitively not worked. At the end of the day, this is the entertainment business, and the Kraken have stopped being entertaining.

Don't know if you are wrong or right about this but I am leaning towards Francis not doing anything either. The approach so far has been based on the hope that some of these mediocre players will become better than they have ever been with the Kraken. It has not worked.

That being said, it is really all on Francis. If he cannot turn things around by 2025-26, he is very likely to be gone. Which means, he either bets on himself and hope 3 of our 4 seasons have been "outliers" and this team has just been unlucky OR he makes a big trade for a superstar as a last resort.

It would be really weird for him to go with the latter given his lack of being aggressive. But desperation can make you do things you wouldn't normally do so who knows? At the end of the day though, I think he has a very short leash and don't think he has the option to "rebuild". I just hope he doesn't screw up our cap situation any more.
