I think he can keep Hughes because he had him as a rookie, which doesn't count towards his 3 keeper years...I think Hughes will be on year 3 right now, but I think he's going to have to tag Vasi and Panarin.

In that case...
Hughes might only be in his 2nd year of elgibilty.
He did not pass the rookie threshold of 160 games until the 2021/22 season.

Other than Levi...
Luc is fine then.

I believe you're both correct.

Just to clarify...
Did COVID extend rookie years too?
COVID happened to wiped out Hughes' rookie season.

nameless1's updated keeper list:

Aho (2nd year, Franchise)
Doughty (4th year, Franchise)
Tuch (1st)
Kempe (1st)
Zegras (1st)
Hart (1st)

Durzi (rookie)
Raymond (rookie)
Wright (rookie)

I did not know I can have 3 rookies on the rookie keeper list.
That solves the logistic issues.

Confirmed.

This trade is much more complicated than it seems from the surface, it’s time for a story!

I have basically 10 or 11 players that are legitimate keepers.

The reason for this is because I went all in last season at the deadline.

So this actually left me with a very interesting scenario, how can I maximize value, but at the same time, not lose such great players for nothing.

So I decided to make a significant trade that is focussing on maximizing overall value, while losing more individual pure scoring talent.

Erik Karlsson who was easily able to be a keeper, is now going to be replacing Dahlin.

As for Pasta, it’s a gamble for sure, but without Bergeron, and Krechi, I feel his production might drop, even though he’s incredible on his shot metrics as well, this was tough, but again I need to focus on overall value.

I’m gonna be replacing him Tom Wilson.
His underlying numbers basically speak for itself.

If he stays healthy, could win me, penalty minutes and hits by himself.

This also will significantly increase my depth this season, I have options now for draft picks.

Basically its: Pasta, Dahlin for Erik Karlsson, Tom Wilson, 1st, 2nd, 3rd Round Draft Picks.

Woah...
Luc just give players away left and right.
You’re looking at this trade through a vacuum.

I basically gain two keeper spots and 3 high draft picks to downgrade winger talent, and get older.

At one point...
You had Draisaitl and McDavid.
Now you trade away Pastrnak after about half a season.
You seem to be allergic to top 5 players.

Yes, trading McDavid was dumb as holy hell, honestly, I was not taking the league that seriously back then, just wanted to have fun, I was f***ing around, obviously regret it now.

I moved on,

This trade is just much more calculated

It is really entertaining to see you operate...
To be honest.
It can be pure chaos.

I have to talk to you more.
I did not realize Dahlin could be available.
