FYI

When it comes to drafting, I will be in Poland, czechia and Netherlands from September 18th till October 1st. I will have my lap top on me though.

I am excited to be back for a second season. I am open for business as well. Anyone on my roster is available for the right price!

Here.

Should we talk about potential rule changes that we discussed last season?

Congrats.
:thumbu:
I listed these two in the OP as something to discuss over the offseason. Did I miss any?

Offseason Changes to be Discussed:
2-day Trade Pending Period
Taxi Squad and NA status

I think the rookie rule should be examined too.
More and more high first rounders will go the NCAA route...
And because the better teams will likely have higher waiver priority due to the waiver rules...
It would be a rich-gets-richer situation.

I personally prefer if all rookies must go through the draft first...
But we could also look at the waiver rules.

It is just a suggestion.
If nobody wants to change...
I am fine with the current rules.

Also...
I am fine with a closer to season draft date this year.
My project should be done by early October...
So I can probably do either 10th or 11th.
My schedule is not set yet though...
So everything is still fluid...
But I should know for sure by September.

I'm mixed on it, but tend to agree with the rookie thing...it can turn into a game changer when these guys jump to the NHL and a top level team adds another top level player...but, being patient and disciplined with your waiver claims should have some value too...so i can see it both ways.

Don't really care about the draft date, closer to the season is better IMO, but I'll draft whenever.

I'm for the 2-day trade pending period.

And I don't recall the NA/ Taxi Squad rule change proposal...I'll need a refresher on that discussion.

I vote for a 24 hour trade pending period (to allow for challenges if needed).

For issues like taxi squads we need to build some flexibility into the CBA for exceptional circumstances like a global pandemic f***ing things up.

No NA players plus fixing waivers should do the trick. Is it possible to create a rule where waivers is required whenever an NA player switches to active?

I don't think Yahoo has that ability, but if they do, that would be a good suggestion. It's not something we can manually enforce.

I still want to trade Kane. Anyone want to make an offer? I'll take a pick or a player.

Edit: I will also be unavailable till September, so don't take it wrong if I'm slow to reply.

Votes for the following:

2-day Trade Pending Period --> Change to 24 hour trade pending period

Taxi Squad and NA status --> Clause to include rules due to special circumstances.

Post trade deadline --> Addition to the rule that rookies (eligible for calder trophy) are ineligibile to be picked up. - May need further discussion whether rookies under our "rookie" rule that are not eligible for calder trophy be eligible for pick up. I think that should be ok, as it would apply to less players and generally older players.

Any others?
Also does anyone have any suggestions on a replacement for Luc?

I vote "Yes" on the first two....and I'd have to hear more about the 3rd option before i could make an educated vote on it. And I have no friends worthy of this pool. lol

Yes on the first 2.
I tend to lean yes on #3...
But I too would like more details.
Perhaps we can limit those newly signed players after the deadline to entry level contracts?
Would that simplify things?
