150 seems high for an average ticket price, I'd guess 100

There's also revenue sharing to consider

The general rule of thumb for the middle-class of the NHL is they break even in the regular season and make profit in the playoffs. It's why so many owners are deadset on never fully rebuilding.

That seems like a fair baseline for Dallas. Winning a championship changes that equation for quite a while, though.

Article 49 of the CBA covers rev sharing, haven't gone over it in a long time, but last i recall only the top 10 revenue teams share revenue.

Leaked numbers from 23 put Dallas around 210m in rev (if accurate), which put them just out of the top 10 (12 or 13 iirc)

We really need a d man. Not too worried about the forwards.
It's about the cap space, if Seguin is "healthy" before the PO, they have to activate him from LTIR, and have to have enough space to do so.

Nothing to do with adding anyone.

They would probably just swap Seguin and Heiskanen to maintain the LTIR space.

More beneficial to utilize Seguin and Miro’s cap than to get them in for 1-3 regular season games.

Hopefully they feel the same and leave both on LTIR until playoffs, regardless if they are ready before the final few games of the regular season.

sure, but last I had seen Heiskanen was expected back before the PO too, so they still need space to activate him

I think Seguin returning before Heiskanen is more about Heiskanen needing a longer recovery than we thought, as opposed to Seguin returning earlier.

We literally cannot activate both in the regular season anymore. We'll be over the cap.

With his concussion history I'd be shocked if Bichsel is back anytime soon and I'm wondering how many more concussions he can deal with until his career is in serious danger. Bichsel is just 20 yo and I certainly don't see him play past 30 if he keeps on suffering concussions at this rate. With how he described it, he went through some really dark times in Sweden after concussions. I certainly hope I never have to go through anything like that and I don't wish it on anybody. The league, and hockey in general, has to start taking concussions more seriously. That starts with punishing people for headshots. I understand that Bichsel is a controversial figure in the NHL already but it's his style of play and what he does is well within the rules so he has to be protected by the league and we can't have clowns like Cizikas hunting for his head. Zero games for Cizikas and just three for Zegas is a joke. That's never gonna get anybody to change his behaviour.
