2024-25 General Dallas Stars Talk

Karlsson is 35 on a bigger cap hit, but shorter term(less years of retention), I think that is much more realistic. You don't have to pay as much for salary retention and age. What about Jones is more realistic to you?

I just think he'd be of more interest because of his size and how much time DeBoer has spent talking about size this year. From Texas helps too

I will say though, Nill has tried for Burns and Karlsson before, so I guess it wouldn't be too surprising if he tried again for an offensive dman. Not that Jones is that much better defensively

Here's what we learned from Per Pete DeBoer this afternoon from his weekly show on the Ticket:
- Miro went right from the Vegas flight to his MRI yesterday and today flew to NYC to get a second opinion. DeBoer hasn't talked to Miro since the Vegas flight landed.
- The debate is the extent of the surgery he'll need. The range is 8-12 weeks for one surgery or more like six months for another.
- He's hoping Miro will be back before the end of the season.
- He still can't properly pronounce Heiskanen. The Ontario accent is undefeated.
- Says he's thinking about the playoffs and said Bichsel fits the category of being big and physical. Hopes Bichsel will be a big part of their playoff run.
Between Miro and Seguin we have $18,3mil of LTIR freedom. Nill, f*** do the Vegas special

For anyone of primo quality that would be on a potential seller, all would have term on contract, so would be tied to them in future years where IR might not be there.

Unsure how hard he goes with Cap space for UFAs, can't see any available that are that much of a difference maker
